Dang folks!! What a surprise!! Hi!! I'm baaaaack!! For however long remains to be seen. Anyway, how does everyone like the change in mylot so far? I'm not sure yet since it's so new to me. Had a heck of a time finding the start discussion area but I'm here!! I've been sooooo darn busy that I hadn't had time to come on here and rarely got the chance to check my email. There's a lot to tell but to give a run down, mom is back in rehab but a short term one this time and not the hell place she was at before. We did finally find out what's wrong with her. We knew she had a kidney disease in which would produce kidney stones. Her bones never took in calcium normally and would form into kidney stones so she had to watch her intake of calcium. Here you and I take it to help our bones but mom couldn't because too much it would turn into kidney stones. Her left kidney is doesn't work anymore essentually, it's dead however, it's three times it's normal size but a stint was put in to drain the fluid in hopes to relieve the pain. The other kidney has a humungous stone in it. I would say the size of a grapefruit!! I'm not joking either, quite large! It can't be the cause of her pain for it's on the right side and her pain is on the left side. The doctor wanted to go through her back and crush it and basically vacuum it out but mom didn't feel up to it or that she could handle something that takes a lot out of the body for she's had it done before so she knows and opted out to go to a rehab center for a few weeks in hopes to get stronger for the surgery. Before I get too far from the subject, thirdly, she has a severe kidney infection and also might be the cause of her pain. We don't know yet but both have been pretty well covered and the doctor said that if she still has pain in her left side when she returns to remove the stone then he'll take the left kidney out which should relieve the pain. I only hope that made sense for I've tried. lol It's complicated and confusing even for me. Just know she's doing alright, in pain from the pelvic fracture when moved but other than that, she's smiling. I'll tell you more tomorrow for I'm still recooperating from the busy three days. Hope all is well and good with you all!!

Oh gosh gabs, you aren't kidding!! Yes we finally know what's wrong with her and got her the medical attention that she so desparately needs. I can only hope that her one kidney can hold out long enough till she's strong enough and able to handle the surgery.

Wow! No wonder you've been away! I'm amazed that you aren't in bed snoring up a storm right now. All of that made me exhausted just reading it. You and your mom are in my thoughts and prayers. I'm glad she is doing ok all things considered. And it's good that she is trying to get stronger before going through all of that. Take care hon. Oh...and in answer to your question at the beginning of your discussion, I'm still getting used to the new layout and all here. I still get lost every once in a while though. LOL

You don't know the half of it Katlady. lol It's been so insane that it's a wonder that I remember my own name!! lol I've had to get a medium sized notebook to keep track of all that's going on!! My face is all broke out from lupus because of the stress and being in the sun too much but it is what it is and my meds will hopefully take care of that. I'm not sure if I like the new mylot or not because it's too big from left to right that I can't see all that's said unless I scroll from side to side. Maybe it's just a glitch for now and they're working on it. I only hope so!

I missed a few days of being online too, I am going back thru my email and answering some notifications. I let my teenage granddaughter use my computer, it wasn't the same after she got off. The next day I got a bad virus, I don't know if its something she did. Right now I am on a borrowed computer until my son can fix mine. At least I am back online, I missed everyone so much.

Sounds like my brothers daughter when she used my mom's computer, she'd mess it up pretty bad and she had to get it fixed and my brother paid for it. If I were you Polly, I wouldn't let her on it again because if she'll do it once, she'll do it twice. I'm sorry that happened to you. Hope you get it fixed soon!

I am really not a fan of the new MyLot. I like the old way beter. I don't undersand why they thought they needed to change. I liked it the way it was, and the way it is ow only serves to confuse me.

I can't agree more danishcanadian. It IS confusing and serves no purpose but apparently the officials saw it differently. What I don't like is that the pages are wider and I have to scroll from side to side to read everything. It wasn't like that before.

Oh dear...that certainly makes things clearer...I used to have chronic kidney infections and the pain is excrutiating...so your Mom's suffering is much more apparent to me now. I hope things get better for her now they know the causes of her pain. Hope you are taking care of yourself as well.

Hope that the doctors can get the infection cleared up andthen sge will feel a lot better I am sure. of course she still has the big stone to contend with. taking out the bad kidney should ease her pain also goodluck and God Bless.

Yes kidney stones are horribly painful. Mom had them most of her adult life and I saw her suffer terribly growing up. She's doing a bit better now since the infection has been battled. Now that she's in rehab and healing, hopefully she'll get strong enough to have the surgery she needs. Thanks Hatley!!
