When you joined facebook...

Did you join prior to it getting really popular, and before it went public? If so, did you like it better before the changes, or now? If you joined after, are you happy that you finally got to join or did you just join for a friend?
I ask because, I remember when my college wasn't even on facebook! It finally showed up there right before I was about to transfer to a different college! LOL I went ahead and used it under that college, and then my new college was on there just before my old college, so I added my new college as my network.
Well, after a few years I'm guess pretty much all colleges were on there, and they even added high schools, companies, and of course now it's open to the public. This doesn't really bother me, because I have it so my profile can only be viewed by friends and people in my network.

I remember being a freshman in college and having someone ask me if I had a facebook. I just looked at them like they were crazy because I hadn't heard of it at that point. A week later me and all of my freshman friends had an account. That was back when you actually had to have an .edu e-mail address to join. I think facebook is better now because more people can join and there are more things to do. I think the applications get too cluttered, but if you manage your profile the right way you can make it look good.

Oh, I agree, I love the fact that a lot more people are there now. And the apps, there are some cool ones, but I admit, I have a hard time managing my profile anymore because of them. LOL Occasionally I go in and take some off it.

I joined facebook when it was open to high school students. So it was already popular, but I was the first of my friends to join, then it spread through my school. I think it is always interesting to be on sites and see how they change as they get popular... sometimes they get really awful, and sometimes they become amazing.

Oh that's cool! I think it would have been so cool to have facebook when I was in high school, but at the same time, I remember high school, so I think I might take that back.. 
Yep, it is cool, I mean, it was cool when it was like all the groups were just for your network, because if was easier to actually run into someone at your school into a certain interest or whatever, but at the same time, when it was just my school, sometimes I would create groups and nobody would join, but when groups became global it was great because it became a way to meet people of all ages, and all over the place.

I joined facebook because I was invited by my cousin. I was figuring out how to use it and eventually, enjoyed the applications and the new and old friends I have.
