I like to use online banking to carry out lots of transactions, including applying for overdrafts/loans, checking account balance, transferring money from one account to the next, and just basically control my finances. The amount of money I have saved on bus fares through doing this is amazing! I think that web security processes and technologies have improved dramatically over the past few years, and I believe that the security knowledge of the professionals in the industry is developing well but according to surveys there are improvements that could be made. But, knowledge is always developing; this, security is forever enhancing. Computer users must still protect their PCs: the banks can protect their servers, but they cannot protect the user's computer from hacker attacks. It is extremely important for computer users to ensure they keep their anti-virus, firewall and spyware programs up to date, ensure any networks are fully secured, and that their Windows operating system is continously updated. Of course, if you are a Linux user then all you have to worry about is infected modules: the kernal itself usually isn't affected; most of the time, Linus modules are created by users who know what they are doing anyway.....so.....the probability of Linux becoming infected is virtually zero! *runs away from Window owning fans*.......just kidden folks!

i use internet banking to check whats coming in and whats going out it is handy and convenient to do so, but we do need to take safe measures by being careful what is instaled on your comptuer from the internet. I have had fraud sometime back. Noticed a strange transaction in my account, much money was taken out.. Went straight to my bank in the town, with the statement.. And they got onto it right away.. I was proteced against online fraud so i did get the money back :)) But naturally i had to format my computer and get a really good anti virus and anti spyware software :) I was very lucky.. There is spyware out there that can record what you type at keybaord, all personal details you input..A key logger nasty litle program that i think got downloaded onto my compuer by a website my friend visited from my comptuer grrrr. Not good at all.. This why i say in many cases these days, spyware seem to be a bigger problem then viruses.

i use my bank account online to receive my money from online payment processors such as Paypal and e-gold (from an e-gold exchanger of course). but, i don't use it to purchase something online. i did it twice only using my credit card ; since then, no more. for security purposes, i update my antivirus and anti-spy softwares daily and have my pc scanned daily, too. i also use spyware blaster for more protection.

I rarely use internet banking, i think it is good enough and so far my money save here. It is secure or not i think the bank should think about it so their customer can used it regularly.
