Hello! This is my first discussion on Mylot! Do you use portable apps? And if you do, what are you favorite ones? I use PortableApps suite lite and I like using Firefox, Thunderbird and I really like having the ClamWinAV as an extra virus scanner it helps to locate false positives and in case a real threat was missed and of course scanning the pen drive itself after connecting to an unknown computer. Abiword is a nice little word processor too. For those who don't know what a portable application is, they are programs that you can run off a usb pen drive even a 1GB one will do. I use online storage and Google bookmarks to make life easier .It's really handy to be able to carry your favorite apps with you and use them on any computer that's available instead of lugging around a laptop all the time. Thanks for answering!

I'm into multi boot so portable applications works great with me, imagine doing just one installation for all OS. I'm using Firefox, thunderbird, Open office, ccleaner, utorrent and other very much needed utilities. ClamWin is a slow virus scanning tool I hope it has improved its speed by now. Portable applications is really the way to go for mobile computing.

Only now did I now that trend micro filed a case againts ClamWin but before the portable clamWin, PC-cilin was the most reliable free portable AV until they decided it's not free anymore. I really dot know what would happen to the case for ClamWin is freeware and open source. Thanks for the BR Bluespace.
