Do you read all the responses to a discussion before posting one yourself?

Was wondering if people here read other's responses to a discussion before posting their own opinion to the topic. I do try and peruse through the responses to a discussion before posting my own opinion or answer and in some cases if my answer has already been given, I may not respond to the particular discussion and go to the next topic. Do you yourself read through other's responses before posting your own?

Not always, especially if it's something I feel strongly about. Usually, I post my opinion about the matter and then check other people's responses. Sometimes, especially if I'm tired, I have to think about the topic because an answer doesn't come to me right away.

I too may not be able to wait to type my response if it's something I feel strongly about. Welcome to myLot!

a lot of it depends on what the discussion is about, if it is something that i need to read others responses in order to make a proper response, i will, if not i usually make my response based on what is discussed in the topic and subject

Yes, I guess it depends on what the topic is about really and whether you'd be able to contribute more to it. Thanks for your response!

Hi marina, Usually I will other responses to see if someone has already posted what I was going to post. Maybe I can add to their comment or add more in my own comment. It just depends on the discussion itself. A question may have several answers, then a discussion may be an entirely different type of response. Have a nice day..

no i dont. i read after. because i want to use my own ideas and thoughts. not wanting to be influenced on what to say. that way i dont end up just using one line to say. something short like some people that just says, "yeah, thats right"

Actually, you're right there. Best to not have your opinion influenced by that of others. I tend to leave one along the lines of 'I hate to differ..but' if I think the rest of the responses are pointing in the same direction! Thanks for your response! Happy myLotting
