There is a lot of debate about our National health service in the United kingdom,it is said that our hospitals are not kept clean, and that the hospitals are badly managed. It is also said that the money allotted to them is not being spent wisely. What are the hospital conditions like where you are in the world?are your hospitals kept clean?and do they run smoothly?

I cant say that ive experienced any ante natal care for a good few years,so im not au fait with how the maternity department functions around here. But the appointment systems seem to leave quite a bit to be desired lol ..the waiting lists are like the M1...long and boring..

To tell you the truth, I have never had a problem with our local hospitals they always seem clean and they run very smoothly. I have had my fair share of visits in the last couple of years and the nurses always spent the time caring for me when I needed the extra care. I have had two operations in the last two years and I have never picked up an infection or anything from my stay there.

The ones that i have been to with hubby over the past year have been a bit down at heel.I realise that the staff are very busy, and they are hard pressed to deal with all that is thrown at them. One of the biggest hospitals nearby has an odd walkway to the main entrance and as we walked that walkway,we noticed a splot of blood every few steps,as if someone had been bleeding while walking all of the way up there..it looked awful, and why on earth it hadnt been swabbed away I dont know...but it was really off putting.

Hi ruby,
In public hospitals, we can't expect it to be cleaned and organized! It's always messy and the people also don't cooperate in maintaining the cleanliness...Like the bathroom is very dirty and you will feel like you will be more sick if you will stay there!
but, in private hospitals...It is really very clean and organized, the only thing is it is only very expensive!

Hi ruby,
Practicality wise, it is better also to avail the services in the public hospital..There are also room which has only like 4 people inside so it's better than having more than 10 patients in a ward!

Well Che my only experience is with the public hospitals really ..they are the ones that i have always used. But I know what you say,my brother in law had some cartilege trouble a few years ago,and he was dependant on getting it put right so that he could work!so the firm he worked for booked him in as a private patient, and the treatment was swift and quite pampered, costly, but not to him,,to the firm...a good experience for him.

in the usa around were i live in missouri there are 3 hospitals that we've had to use for my mother and sister. 2 of them are good hospitals that take good care of you. 1 of them is a nightmare and should change to better quality personnel. they are very disorganized and make people more sick. they almost killed my mother.

Lie you i think that its a case of some are a lot better than others..earlier in the year my mother had too visit the very big teaching hospital nearby, and that is a very large and mostly new building, but it is soul less and it is most unwelcoming,it has a sense of doom about it!!and we said when Mum came out how we very much felt for anyone having to stay in there for too long.
