Favorite thing to cook when low on time?

What is your favorite thing to cook for dinner when you have little time to make it? Or maybe you're just too tired to cook something that takes time? I'd have to say my fallback options are breakfast for dinner (normally something like eggs and toast, breakfast burritos, or pancakes) or something pasta based. How about you?

Pizza. I don't have to do anything but start the oven and pop it in. Takes about 10 minutes.

Good point! We do this sometimes, too. I love the rising crust frozen Digiorno pizzas! They are so yummy.

I'll have to check those out! I'm always up for new things, especially if they're easy on the pocket book :)

I fall back on scrambled egg sandwiches, with some radishes or tomatoes on the side, or I make tuna salad sandwiches.

All those things sound very good. I'm a big fan of breakfast for dinner, eggs, bacon, toast or an omlet. I do a lot of pasta dishes that are easy to create and take very little time. A big salad is quick, easy, delicious. I do a lot of hamburger helper dishes when I'm low on time, maybe some quick ramen noodles with lunchmeat and diced onions. I try to utilize cheap easy ingrediants when time and laziness are an issue.

The quick and easy tuna noodle casserole was an award winner in my house. The boys are grown now but I think it's still my youngest sons favorite meal. Of course they were ALWAYS hungry so the faster the better. Maybe that's why he likes it so much LOL I came up with lots of variations to keep it fresh! I always hated the hearing the famous "not that again" statement, especially if I was short on time.

I like to make 1 pot spaghetti - basically throw some noodles, meatballs, & veggies in a pot and then when that's cooked add some sauce & spices. It's the fastest thing to make. Macaroni & Cheese is always a good quickie too if needed - will add veggies to it & tuna to make it more of a "meal"... Sandwiches are a nice fall back, too. I recently learned how to make a scrambled egg/omelet in the microwave, so that might be my new favorite quick thing...cooks in about a minute or two!!

Bacon, eggs or hotdogs are the easiest to cook when you are pressed for time. If you have some bread, you are good to go. :)

I think making egg half-fry would be the easiest for me considering I am a male. Have it with bread, making it the easiest and fastest thing I can cook. (Psst.. also one of the very few things that I can cook). It's simple just pour the egg on the pan and it's done in a couple of minutes. See, it's that easy.

for me, nothing goes faster than quesadillas! I don't have any children living with me...so, i can have grilled cheese, tuna melts, taco salad, etc. i LOVE breakfast for dinner. I usually don't care to eat at all when i first get out of bed. Just coffee...straight !

I would have to say that I am faced with that decision every once in a while when it comes to a quick dinner idea. Sometimes I just make some quick pasta sauce with some spaghetti. Yes, there have also been times when I would whip up some pancakes. There is nothing wrong with eating a breakfast type thing for dinner.

Definitely pasta for something good, hearty and quick. Rotini with marinara sauce or Spaghetti and meatballs(I keep them in the freezer)... ~~
