Family Reunions!

I just got back from attending my family reunion on my dad's side. I left Friday night and hooked up with my sisters and we road the 200 miles to meet up with what's left of my cousins and my one aunt. First there was a pizza party on Friday night at one of my cousins. The next morning we met up for breakfast then part of the group went shopping and many of them went golfing and some just hung out. On Sat. afternoon we have a putting contest then head off to a nice restaurant for dinner and a game in which everyone is granted a gift. (everyone brings a gift...either a nice one...or a gag gift) It was so much fun. This morning I headed back with my sisters and now I have some wonderful memories of time spent with my cousins. On my mother's side no one gets together anymore....and that is kind of sad. Do you have family reunions and do you attend?

My mother's side of the family has a reunion every year. Everyone gets together at one of the cousin's house for a big pot luck dinner. We used to meet at the camp on the river until it was sold. Those were fun times!
My dad's side of the family hasn't gotten together in a long time. I am working on this and hope to be able to host a BQ at least. I think it is worth an effort!

our family rarely holds reunion. the last reunion we had was i was still a high school student and that was more than ten years ago. our family is really big and scattered so if there are some of them who held a reunion after the last one i attended, we were probably not informed because we live far from each other. but as far as i can remember, i didn't enjoy the last reunion we attended. i am not close with my distant relatives, and i am only fond of a few close relatives so i wasn't able to enjoy it. i was still young then and i felt i rather preferred the company of my friends. but i thought it was my responsibility to attend it so i went along.

Hi jillhill, Our family is in pune and all my relative are in another state called gujrat, so we visit them one in a year. school vacation. so we go their for a month or more. two days here and then two day somehwere else. thats so nice feeling. When i see mom crying after she meets her sister, to see her crying i dont like that but when you see the feeling behind it, its so beautiful.

We do have family reunions on my father's side. We hold it every year. Every first of January. It's really good to see relatives, getting together. It is really a happy moment for all of us as we have a strong family ties. Happy postings! HUGZ!

My Mothers side of the family (Chancy's) we do have a reunion every couple years. This year is going to be the first one in about 3yrs. because some of the family members was overseas and we wanted to wait until they came home. I can't wait for this years because there is a whole new crop of babies!
