How does the rice shortage been affecting your life?

It's very sad to see long queue of people awaiting to buy NFA rice at lower price of P25/kilo in designated places here in the Philippines. The price of rice has made a very sharp rise and the poor people can no longer afford the market price so they patiently brave the long queue unmindful of the heat. How pitiful sight to behold. I can't help but ask why it went this far? How about you, how have you been affected by the rice shortage. Is there also a rice shortage in your place or you are not at all affected.

Well, we can live without rice so perhaps people should learn from you. If we do not buy that rice, surely the price will go down.

yeah it's ok with me, i can still survive.. but how about people who can't live without rice.. if they will just eat oatmeal or bread everyday, it's not enough especially for the hardworking people like the construction workers.. they need energy so that they can work hard..

I'm sorry to hear that there is a shortage of rice in the Phillipines. I'm with the UK poster -- I'm ashamed to say that I knew nothing about it. I hope things get better for everyone there.

How I envy your good condition there in the UK, I have relatives there and they seem to be really doing good.

Who is not affected here? But although I am one, I will not let my wife or my kids line-up for a kilo or two of the said lower price product of the government. I still can afford to buy much expensive market price than the NFA, so I will give the poorer people a chance of the lower rice.

There is no real shortage here except the prices were soaring.Except for middle class like us lower classes are not in a position to buy any thing. All the consumer prices have gone up by 50% on an average in the last one year but the income has not gone up that much

Right you are, the prices were soaring and blame it on the greedy hoarders.
