Swimming in the sea....

July 14, 2008 7:36am CST
I love having a swim in the sea especially when it's lovely and warm and crystal clear! I do like swimming in pools but have got a bit of a thing about all the grids and vents and the holes that are in pools for ventilation so much prefer the sea and the feel of sand between my toes! So which do you prefer - are you a beach body or a pool dude?? : )

I like pools because our beaches are disgusting. It must be nice to have clear water at the beach. Ours is murky. Plus I am too paranoid about all the tapeworms and roundworms.

In Southern California (West Coast of the United States), I've found most beaches are not that nice. I've never been to one with clear water here. Some are not as bad as others. Some are so bad that we are warned to stay out.

I like them both equally. I just got back from Mexico and I spent time in both the sea and the pool. They both have their pro's and con's , yet I still can't choose which one I like better. The ocean is a beautiful wonderous sight to see and so relaxing though. :)

I have only had the opportunity to swim in the ocean once, when I was about 10 years old. I really enjoyed it! I like going to the local beaches, although I don't go very often. When I was younger I spent a lot of time at the community swimming pool and had an uneasy feeling when I was near a vent or drain also! Glad it's not just me!

Yeah I'm glad it's not just me either! I like the indoor pools when they are heated as it's makes it a pleasure as I hate swimming in cold water!! lol

You should come to Ireland sometime and see if a dip in the Atlantic would change your mind! I'd Love to swim in warm, clear water sometime!I go bodyboarding (Yes,in the Atlantic,on the Donegal coast!) but mostly I'd Swim in a pool...

If I was in a place where the water in the sea was clear and blue as it is in the Bahamas or a natural spring, then I'm all for it. I don't really like the pool because the bleach messes with my skin and hair. I'm a great swimmer and love the water. Most people say that I must have some mermaid in me because I stay under for so long. Now, don't get me wrong. I love the sun, sand, and sea air but I hate the salt and dirtiness of the sea in America. There hasn't been many places that I've gone to that I really like the sea. My father took me all the time when I was younger, but I loved that because I was with him. On top of all of this, I really want to loose about 20 pounds so that I will look really good in bathing suit. I love my body, and so does my hubby, but it's hard to walk on the beach without comparing. I don't compare myself to those who are skinny or who obviously went to a plastic surgeon. I'm almost thirty and have a nine year old. I look good for my age and love my curves. I just want to be firmer and a size or two smaller. If I can do this without losing my booty, boobs, and thighs then life would be great!

Yes I agree! The beaches in the Caribbean are so nice and clear and the sand so white it is a pleasure to swim in!! And warm too! lol I also would like to lose a little weight and I know that swimming is one of the best ways and it's more to do with being comfortabel when it's hot than lugging around the extra body weight but I am not too conscious of myself so thats good! And yes I also agree it would be nice to lose a bit without losing those all important bits!! lol x

There are so many members on here that I would wish could live close to me so we could hang out and stuff. You are definitely one of them. Your picture says so much about who you are that I had to respond to your discussions. Keep up the good work and look forward to seeing me more often. I will post new pictures once I loose the 10 pounds I'm trying to let go of to start off with. I want you to tell me if you see the difference when I do, if you don't mind. I will send you a PM when I upload it. Wish me luck! I also glad that you're not self-conscious about your looks. I'm happily married but very attracted to women. I must say....you're beautiful!
