I do try my best to be calm in all situations. It is not always easy though. I usually like to just sit down and relax and collect my thoughts. It does help sometimes. Being a nervous wreck too much can be stressful and not good for you. Sometimes I just like to take a time-out for a little while and then get back to routine.

I get stressed over any situation that involves our kids. When I am stressed I don't eat. My appetite is just gone. Something else I am able to do, and this is a good thing, is lay down and go to sleep. I wake up feeling like a different person. I call it my self defense mechanism.

When I start to feel stressed out I ask myself how not being calm is going to help the situation. Is it really going to help us if I'm acting like a nervous idiot? What will be the best for us? That calms me down every time, because I know stressing out and acing nervous will NOT help ease whatever problem my husband and I are facing. Some call this releasing, I just call it common sense.

I get stressed out too. A lot of times I'll go for a jog which is great for creating happy endorphins and letting off extra energy. I also like to listen to relaxation CDs and use Bach Rescue remedy spray.

I take a couple of deep breathes. Sometimes I count to 10. If my daughter is with me, I fake it. The last thing I want is for her to be upset. Or to see me that way.
