What to do with all those FW:FW:FW emails?

Don't you just hate those people who forward emails to EVERYONE in their address book because it says at the bottom, 'Forward to x amount of people and you will get X' or Forward to all of your friends to show them love or some other silly thing like that. I used to get really annoyed at these. In fact I responded lots of times with "Please don't forward me your junk mail!" But they still keep coming. Not so long ago I got an idea... SEO gurus and bloggers say "content is king" right? Wouldn't it be great to turn these into content! So, I created "The Smiley of the Week" jokes for women, and started posting them on my website. Here is one from 7-4: In case your still looking for the perfect gift.... Menopause Jewelry My husband, being unhappy with my mood swings, bought me a mood ring the other day so that he would be able monitor my moods. We discovered that when I'm in a good mood it turns green. When I'm in a bad mood it leaves a big friggin' red mark on his forehead. Maybe next time he'll but me a diamond. Dumb A**! Do you think it's good idea? Would you return to the website to read the weekly smiley? If not, what do you do with these emails?

It's even more annoying when someone forwards from AOL to a non-AOL email. Then you get all those FW:FW:FW as attachments! I NEVER forward junk. My rule of thumb is, if it makes me laugh out loud or cry (which is very rare) then forward it, but clean it up first!I never really considered what I would do with the junk mails. I don't think I would return weekly on my own to see what the new smiley was, but would definitely end up reading it if it came in via email.

I agree with you! I try to only email the ones that I think that person would like. I don't send every forward to every person as I know that not every one would like it. I try to only send them every once in a while. I try to look and see who they were sent to already. If my aunt sends me one I know she sent it to my mom and others we both email so I don't send it to my mom or those others we are linked to. If a friend sends me one I know my mom didn't get it but would like it so I'll send it her way. What do I do with them once I have read them and sent them to who ever. Well I have created a folder named - Forwards. If it’s a good forward that I think I would need later or think that some one may want it at another time I save it. If it’s just an okay one or a joke I will delete it. I know I save ones like "cleaning tips" "recipes" And some joke ones. I would visit a site that had all different forwards on one page. I think that’s a good idea.

I did the folder thing too. And I almost never send anything as FW. If I think someone needs/will like something I copy/paste and send. I really hate all those FW and the attachments they create!!!

I abhor email forwards and cannot stand it when friends send them to everyone in their email address book. And yet, I cannot get my own hubby to stop doing this! I've written quite a few articles about this myself - at a few other locations. Even wrote one about if you HAVE to send them, how to eliminate all the other email addresses (you know - cutting and pasting instead of just hitting forward) and using the BCC so you don't have a list of addresses at the top of the page when you do read it. If you do. :-)

Yep IF I do get something I want someone else to have, I always copy/paste/send!
