if you will be having a car of your own what type would it be? would you like to drive a manual transmission or automatic transmission type of car? i own an automatic transmission car but i would prefer manual ones because they save gas more than automatic ones. but i still stick to my car because it is the first car given to me and it is high enough to pass thru flooded areas..

I learned to drive on a manual. I learned more about controlling the car that way rather than just aiming it and pushing the gas. But here in Houston there are so many traffic jams, lights and other problems that it really is a waste of time to have a manual transmission.

Houston is the 4th largest city in the USA. Congestion on the highways is a big problem. Unlike New York City for example, where people live and work in the city we don't. People in New York live and work in downtown. Taxis, trains, subways ferry people into and out of the city. Here we don't have that. We drive into town or where ever our jobs are. It is not uncommon for people to drive at least 60-100 miles round trip per day for work. That's why we are so stacked up with traffic.

yeah driving a manual car is surely challenging. i learned how to drive a manual but never practiced it that much. i can only drive our manual van when im inside the village because there are less cars and keeps me from stressors such as honking of horns on me due to my slow driving. haha!

I have had both but I prefer an automatic especially living in a congested crowded city, it is a constant stop and go. I think it is fun to drive when out of the city.

yup you are right. it is less tiring driving an automatic car but what i only fear is whenever circumstances such as the car overheating in the middle of the street is a bit scary and embarrassing ahah!

Hi there! I prefer manual transmission. For me its more challenging to drive. From what I have heard manual transmission is also much easier to fix when it suddenly stops in the middle of the road. You can push it until it you are able to start it again. But for automatic, I think you can't do that. Ciao!

you still can just put it in a neutral mode because that is what we did. we tied a rope from my car to my uncle's car and pulled it as we reached his home to have it fixed the next day. but yes you are right. those who knows how to drive manual cars are the best drivers in the world..
