Yes, it is true.
Archeologists have discovered the grave of a vampire. It dates from 4000 years ago during the Bronze age. Don't believe it? Read about it here.

Are two large stones sufficient to hold a vampire down in his grave? Have vampires disappeared from the face of the earth? They were here 4000 years ago, why not now?

Now we call them politicians... not just any politician mind you. These are the ones who are always wanting to bleed the taxpayers dry for some kind of social program.
They go by many names, but are most commonly referred to as demonicrats... which at some point was shortened to the more familiar democrats.
I don't know what it would take to keep these critters in their graves, so I suggest immolation.

Well it's about time they found one! lol. There are many documented cases of bodies found in graves with stakes through their hearts and other tell tale signs that they may have been feared to be vampires. I would think though that two large stones would not have been enough so maybe this guy wasn't the real deal! (unless the stones are actually massive cloves of petrified Garlic! Who knows, maybe 4,000 years ago not only Vampires existed but garlic was also HUGE!)
Arguably the award for the first "official" vampire goes to Vlad the Impaler. And others have argued that vampires DO exist today as people with a rare medical condition called porphyria - "a defect of blood pigment metabolism in which porphyrins are produced in excess, are present in the blood, and are found in the urine." It is argued that people suffering from porphyria may benefit from the drinking of blood to replace the pigment defects of their own blood. You would assume though that the AMOUNT they would have to drink to make an ongoing difference would be pretty large!
There was also Elizabeth Bathory who bathed in the blood of innocent virgins after slapping a servant girl; seeing the blood on her hand and thinking that the skin where the blood had spilled looked younger! Maybe SHE was one also? I am not aware of her drinking blood though.....
So maybe there is a modern day Vlad or Elizabeth roaming the streets somewhere! Personally I think inflation, global warming and high gas prices would have forced them all to hibernate for now! lol.

I once knew a guy named Val, who drove an Impala. Does that count?
Seriously, I read about old Vlad. Glad I did not meet him. Remember the story of how he turned back an invasion? His army had captured a medium sized reconaissance party of the enemy. Vlad had them all impaled on high stakes in plain view of the road to his kingdom. The enemy became disheartened and turned around.
I seem to recall there is some rare disease that is treated somehow without blood these modern days but that drinking blood would benefit people with the disease. Or maybe that's something that was in the WEEKLY WORLD NEWS, I'm not sure.

Lol. I think your Impala driving friend may be hiding a secret identity! Watch your back with that one! Yes, the acts of Vlad were horrific at best. Thank God you didn't go to details regarding HOW he impaled people. Most were still alive when he had this done to them and took some time to die afterwards.
The drinking of blood apparently CAN assist with porphyria to my understanding but must be in significant and constant amounts for sufferers to rely on blood only to treat it. I think that if I had this disease I would wish to stick to medication!

That is VERY interesting! Did it supply a picture? I didn't see one or a link for one, but it does fascinate me to see what it looked like. YES, I'm morbid like that, LoL!
But it's interesting as to how they buried it! From how vampires are described as extremely strong, I'm surprised that the vampire didn't just toss the rocks off, but then it was buried under dirt too, so that may have made it complicating.
Interestink! Veddy, veddy interestink!!

It does make you wonder. Were vampires real back then?

Right! Well it's also no different then if zombies really exist. If you go to Africa (I think that's where it is), there is a man there who is confirmed to be a zombie by voodoo! They believe in that sort of thing.
So honestly I wouldn't be surprised at all if at one point in time there really was such a thing as a vampire!!
I think all of it is neat though!

To say that because this man had two large stone under him makes him a vampire, is like say that because Obama now wear a flag pin makes him a patriot. No I do not believe that this man was a vampire nor do I believe that vampire have ever existed.

Aw...shucks. What fun is it if people don't believe in something strange once in awhile?

Hey there Red,
So, I'm thinkin' that I ought to be hearing creepy organ music, and seeing visions of Boris Karloff.
All funnin' aside, those ancient Czech's must have thought that guy was pretty dangerous, if they went to the trouble of weighing him down in the grave. Whether he was vampire or not, the folks who buried him were certainly threatened by him!
It must be something in the air -- I mean the desire for 'lighter' subjects, 'cause I just answered a fun one about roller-skating. Things have been pretty heavy around here lately. So, thanks for the lighter touch!

Yes, there is only so much of the 'deep' stuff anyone can take, even me. Too deep and you either drown or suffocate. So, I like to make up my own WEEKLY WORLD NEWS type posts using true stories. It is kinda of fun. Months ago I had one about how the WHITE RACE IS DOOMED! due to global warming. White supremists chagrined and the KKK outraged. (Or something close to that!) Actually, global warming is really going to eliminate the white race. But let's not go into it now.

Every legend is based on some little tidbit of fact though over time the stories do tend to evolve.
Whether this grave is that of an actual vampire or not, the people who buried it BELIEVED it was a vampire. To them, that was all that mattered.

Not only did they believe it, I happen to think people back then were smarter than we are about some things. This may have been one of them.

I am not saying that "vampires" do not and/or did not exist.
I am simply saying that; just like the witch trials in the past - many of the accused were NOT "witches" in any sense of the word. But, the people around them believed that they were witches and treated them as such.
Whether this is the grave of a "REAL vampire" or not; the people who buried this individual BELEIVED it was a "vampire" that they were burying. Unless there are remains with intact DNA that we can check; WE will never know for sure.

It's amazing what they can deduce about ancient societies from those types of artifacts. The burial rituals usually tell a lot about the prevailing superstitions of the day. I wonder if the archaelogists have established that
vampiric stories were a prevalent superstition in the Bronze Age. Perhaps they have other evidences indicating this is true. It would be an interesting study, and I really wonder what circunstances would have brought on their conclusions that someone was a vampire back then.

I really think it is guess work. 4000 years ago is before any written record. All we can do is exaimine artifacts and make a guess. It is fun, though.

They suspect a possibility, can be anything. People in the ancient times, considered anything and everything with fear and superstitions. So i guess that man was one of that. I dont think vampires existed, if they did, they would have been existing till now. I mean how can a simple man with no powers, over power a vampire with so much power and still exist and the vampire vanish? Not possible.
