Are stars really that important to everyone here on mylot?

I look at some of these discussions and I hear people say "Woot! I got my red star!" or I might come across a discussion where someone complains about being downgraded to a lower-ranking star. Is it that big of a deal? I've been at a red star for as long as I can remember, and I'm not going to lose sleep over not having a blue star. Sure, I'll admit, I don't always provide the most useful comments all the time. I like to joke around and sometimes leave what I view as, humorous responses. So, people are going to rank me negatively because I have a sense of humor? Am I the only that thinks too many of the discussions on here are all dire and serious versus silly, humorous, joke discussions?
