i have only heard a few people that can do songs better than the original person that did it in my opinion...so i was just wondering if everyone feels the same about this...do you think that when most people remake a song that it is as good as the original version of the song most of the time or do you think that a lot of times the newer singers can make the song better...what is your honest opinion on this because i am split on this!

most music is is good at its time. the remakes are good because they are what we listening to, the oldies sound good to old people because its what they are use to. It just depends on the person I think. I like both versions.

i agree with you i really think that it is just the person that is singing and the person that is listnening to the music, so i would have to say that you are correct thanks!

It depends on how the singer sings the song.

Hello dear jhl. I think that I have the same feeling as you have about this topic. I think that the major reason for this could be because we are used to the original when it first came to our ears, which is what we call the first impression of something or someone. But in fact, it is not completely like this because some of the remakes of songs are also as good or better than the originals. Have you ever noticed about this, please?

Well, I would say that it would depend on the song, the two bands involved and the temperament of the listener. I have heard some songs that were great remade. Some I didn't like at all. There's even one or two that after I heard them I liked them so much they made me like the original more. So yeah, I think it all depends.

Not always. Some songs just don't do the originals justice. And then there are those that are redone so well it makes you forget about the original. A great example of this is 'How Soon Is Now' by Love Spit Love. The original is done by The Smiths, but Love Spit Love's version is way more creative with it's sound. Not too many people can top a Beatles song, but I like Rufus Wainwright's version of 'Across The Universe' better.

It totally depends if the remakes are as good as the original. My daughter have come to like some songs before and when asked which one she likes or which one is better. She would choose the original. So i don't agree that old songs are liked by old people and remakes or new songs are for the kids now.Happy listening!!!
