Online writing group?

Today I've been seeing several posts from someone asking for others to take a look at a book that person has been writing, and it made the wheels in my head turn a little as I glanced over those discussions. I have participated in online writing groups before, and it's been a lot of fun... what if we planned one out for here on myLot? I'm not sure how it would work- we might have to start up a new interest to post in there, or simply friend each other and PM/email stories off of myLot, but it would be interesting to get a group together and see what it would be like. So... here's what I'd like you guys to answer: 1. Have you been in a writing group, online or irl? Is this a good idea? 2. If you think this is a good idea, would you join? 3. Other writing experiences you may have had.
