Do you: Have to put on some sort of makeup? or Have to get your hair done? ....before you step out of the house? now, before you reach for that mascara, eyeliner, eye shadow, container of hairwax, hairspray.... STOP! think about it, what does it do for you? Is it really neccessary? Yes, Vanity opens doors... but.... do you stand to lose more of yourself then to gain something new? No doubt, if you don't borther to make yourself up, then people would look at you and feel you take no interest in yourself and the way you look. Don't you think, these people are better off alone then be in your company. All i'm saying is take trust and be proud with the way you look. Self-Confidence is the only make up you need. If that's considered arrogant.... Let them take care of themselves... Plus, the same made up face everyday = monotony... i suggest shine on the other days and for today.... just for today.... let yourself be yourself...

I used to be like that. I wouldn't even open the door if my face and hair weren't "just right". I guess I was just afraid of the opinions of others and didn't realize that most of the time they don't even notice! Now, I live in the country and do a lot of things outdoors. I'm very busy and don't have time for makeup, curled hair or even nail polish! I will put on a little mascara when my husband takes me out for a special dinner or something, but other than that, I never use anything except sunblock when I go out. I put my hair up in a ponytail because it's comfortable and convenient in the heat while I'm gardening. My husband loves me for me and doesn't care if I wear makeup or not. I never did use a lot and the only noticeable thing really was the mascara because my eyelashes are very light naturally. I never did have my nails "done". My husband doesn't care which I choose. He just wants me to be happy. So, no makeup for me!

i recently learnt something from my psychology lecture.. the more simialr the two sides of the face is, the more beautiful a person is. makeup are invented to make the two side of the face more simialr, therefore more beautiful. i personally feel that it would have to depend om the occassion.... on how you should be dressed, do your hair or makeup.. i feel more confident when i look good too..be it the clothes or the makeup... heads would turn when you dress your best.. :)

I actually enjoy putting on my makeup. I think it has more to do with the artist in me than vanity. Every time I put my makeup on, I am my own work of art. I started wearing makeup at a very young age, about 12. My mother always wore makeup and I remember borrowing hers and playing with all kinds of different looks and colors. It was so much fun for me and I never got over it. Over the years I think that along with just enjoying it, it has become something of a habit. I don't really care what others think, this is something I do for myself.

That's a noble thought raclie. :) I'm against makeup too, unless it is something important I'm attending. Else it is a good moisturizer and a hint of kohl, thats all. :)

That's such a sweet sentiment! And you're young, so you have perfect skin, I'm sure. I had perfect skin when I was 17 or 18 years old, too. As for me, I struggle to accept my real face in the public. I want to hide the years and yet, I want to be accepted. In the past, I've gone out without makeup, cause I am allergic to liquid makeup and can't wear it without getting pimples and breakouts. But then I found mineral makeup and haven't had a breakout since. The mineral makeup makes my skin look beautiful naturally. It covers the tiny imperfections, lines, dry patches, uneven spots, etc. And the best part is that it doesn't look as if I'm wearing any makeup on my face! I look beautiful! It makes me look beautiful. When I wear mineral makeup, noone compliments me on my makeup cause it's so subtle. Instead, I get compliments on my beauty! What more could a woman ask for. I have the best of both worlds.

Some days I do, and some days I don't. If I'm just running errunds then there is no need to go all out. If it is some special occassion, then yeah I put on makeup. I'm confident with or without it.

Hi Raclie, I understand what your saying, but I wear make-up because I like wearing make-up. Not because of what others will think of me but because of what I think of myself. Cheers, Tianna

I've never been the girly girly type so I usually just go anywhere with my clean face. If I feel like it I just put on lip gloss.. I don't even put powder like other girls. the nice thing about it is that when I really need to be made up, people are surprised with how I look. It makes me feel better that way. I keep a little element of surprise.

I understand what you are trying to say but for some people putting make up on makes them confident. And in my opinion some putting some make up just enhances their features and in that way they feel beautiful.

me in just the kind of person who really hates make-up.. i know i'm beautiful without them and most of my friends say that too. be yourself, you can proudly say that your beautiful even without make ups, you can even tease people that their beautiful due to make ups, besides it will help your skin from aging too quickly, loose powder and moisturizer is enough to see your youthful glow.

well i don't usually have makeup on. i feel pretty confident in the way i look. and i totally agree about the part that people should be interested in who i am, not how i look. however, there are occasions that i feel i want to use a little makeup. sometimes when i go out at night with my partner i'll put on some lipstick. just to look different from how i usually look. i prefer to be judged by my ability than my looks. it's just a quirk of mine. cheers ;p

I seldom makeup, I will makeup only when there's certain function to attend. Actually makeup is not good for the skin in my mind, and it takes time to do the makeup. I rather to sleep more :D. It's more comfortable to see a girl in a natural face. A person's personality can influent the beauty. Be a kind heart person then will be a beauty. That's my thinking.

i agree with you, that it makes me feel sad when i talk to girls who say they wear makeup to make them feel beautiful. most of the time, they are extremely attractive without it. Self confidence is something that everyone could use a boost of. As for myself, i put my face on because i enjoy it and i think its a fun way to express yourself on my face. if im feeling flirty, flirty makeup.

I hardly ever wear makeup. I'm kinda a tomboy. If I do wear makeup it's only eye makeup. I never wear base or lipstick. And I seldom do my hair cuz it takes too long. People dont really care whether u wear makeup or do your hair. I dont think they think you dont care how u look if you dont do these things. People judge u mostly on the clothes u wear when it comes to appearance. Dolling ur self up though can really make u FEEL beautiful, so sometimes it's fun to do ur makeup and hair. Especially if there's glitter! Yay!

I usually do put on at least eye liner and mascara everyday. If I don't, I feel like I look sickly and my eyes look really tiny. I don't go overboard with doing my hair...I have curly locks and the summer humidity and rain do a number on it. So, on days when I'm just going out shopping, playing hockey, nothing special, I just roll out of bed and slide a headband on. However, if I'm going out at night with friends, I will take time to do my makeup and hair. Call it vanity, call it societal stipulation if you will, but that's what I do. It seems with all the beauty magazines and media hype of what is 'beautiful,' it is hard to leave the house without somehow enhancing your appearance.

Many times I don't put any make up on at all - I only wear mascara though! I just don't have time for it. And a lot of time - like today most likely - I'll just put my hair back in a headband and let it do whatever it wants to. My attitude is pretty much - this is me, here I am.

I don't remember the last time I wore makeup. I've only ever wore it a few times in my whole life. I don't know how to put it on correctly and think I look like a clown so I just don't wear it. Good thing my husband doesn't like a real made up woman!

I agree that self-confidence is extremely important, more so than makeup. I very rarely use makeup; I use some shiny lip gloss if I'm going out, I guess, but that's more to make sure my lips aren't all chapped and gross. I use lotion to make my skin moistened, and sometimes use the Eucerin kind (the green lotion) if I have any red skin to help even it out. No makeup needed. Besides, makeup takes up time I'd rather spend on my bike or reading.

I like wearing makeup and I don't think that it is because I have a lack of self-confidence. Do I think I look better with makeup than without? Yes, I do. I think that most people do. Have you seen pictures of celebrities with and without makeup? If so, you know what I mean. Do I have to wear it every day just to go out? No, I often run to the store with little or no makeup on. Nevertheless, when I do that, I am aware that I don't look as good as when I am wearing makeup. I think people look better with makeup because it gives us the ability to conceal flaws and emphasize good points. The same thing goes for different hair styles. Of course, I also know that a lot of this attitude is culturally based because I realize that I don't generally think -- gee, men need to wear makeup. On the other hand, I do sometimes think about men that it is unfortunate that they don't ahve more flexibility in their hairstyles to camouflage ears that stick out or other flaws in their appearance. I also realize that male celebrities look better on TV and in movies than they do in real life because of hair style and makeup. I think that women look more polished when they are wearing at least some makeup.
