i was calling to see if i could get in to see my asthma specialist on friday since friday is the soonest i could get a ride (and thats with begging my mom to take me) and they arent open on fridays!! neither is my primary doctor!! drives me crazy since i always get sick on thursdays or friday throughout the weekend and i dont want to go to the walk in clinics because i have so much medical history and the different medicines im on i dont want some idiot doctor not paying attention and giving me something bad.. and i want records kept and kept with my other records.. i cant afford to go to the ER so thats not an option.. i wish that they would at least have an alternative doctor that can work the weekends and nights so that you can always see them.. bad enough that when i can get an appointment its usually a week to a month away till i can get in and with my rides being very limited it drives me nuts!! yeah they work hard and etc but they could at least have a back up!! all i get when my doctor isnt open is GO TO THE ER!! and if i am calling to go to the doctor then im sicker than a cold so i cant win!!

Hi Moon! Well, yeah it's true. Most of my doctors have different schedules and they usually skip a day like MWF or TThS. Our family doctor is on MWF and based on my experience, he wasn't around when I was rushed to the hospital. I had to choose one of the resident doctors. But then, all my follow up would still be at my family doctor. I usually tell the attending doctor that all my records are with my family doctor and I would want him to updated since he knows my history. Sometimes though, we just have to go to the ER especially if it's life threatening. I have asthma and I had a mild stroke. The worst asthma attack I had was just a few months ago, it took 5 nebules and 1 steroid injection just for me to able to breath properly. The wheezing was still there. And my doctor wasn't around that day. I had to wait the next day to meet him.
