I know there might be a discussion about this but why not make another :). So what was your first touch with computer. In my case i was like 4 or 5 and my dad showed me how to play games with the computer. It was some old computer with windows 95, best we got :P But it had some cool games what i would still want to play like jazz rabbit, commander keen and many others i don't remember names of. So my first touch to computers was those old games. How about you? What was your first touch with computer? Were you amazed? Surprised? tell me everything :)

I was 16 when my dad gave me my first computer. I didn't think he'd actually agree to get me one, so I was very excited when he said he would. I couldn't wait to get it as I wanted to be able to get onto the Internet and see what it was all about. When my dad came over and brought the computer my excitement grew...that is, until I found out there wasn't any way to get online with it. It was a basic computer with no OS whatsoever. So I was disappointed to say the least. But I didn't want to ruin it for my dad, so I kept it to myself. I didn't have Internet access until 10 years later. But the first time I got on I'd have to say I was amazed by it.

Hehe, yeah i bet it was big disappointment when there was no internet in it :P But back then on me it didnt matter as when i was a child i didn't even know thing about internet if i have even heard the word. But when i was like 12 or something i started to get interested on the internet but we had only modem and it cost alot to go internet with it my mom prohibited the use without her permission. Well ofcourse when i asked permission my mom said "half an hour" and then i was like "ok ok". But to tell you the truth i often was an hour or even two hours sometimes :P Then my mom was shocked about the internet bills and year after she bought me DSL :)

Hello for you too. I remember when i was playing those games and starting em with my computer i was scared too. I thought like "what if i do wrong, will the computer blow up or will i mess everything up?" Well after few weeks of comforting myself with the computer i got used to it and then it became everyday life to me. It has been one big enjoyment for me. :)

Well theres always a first time for everything and my first touch with a computer was when my mom took me to her work and let me play a little skiing game on her computer. Since then I've loved computers and the net. I've learned only a little bit about computers but i want to be a game designer so I've got to learn all about different software and hardware. I tried leanring HtML Scripting language but It's a bit confusing learning it over the net.

Many years ago I worked in a law firm. A guy came in wheeling what looked like a small television set. It turned out to be a word processor. These were computers without internet as there was no internet in those days. I had to go to school to learn how to work the word processor. It was not menu driven, but rather driven by a special language. It turned out I was rather good at it and the company that made the computer actually offered me a job, but I turned it down. I still love working on computers and have taught computer skills to pre-school and kindergarten kids.

I bet it's fun to teach the little ones computer skills and to see the way they react when something comes up for them at the push of a button! I know an 8 year old girl who has been using the computer since she was about 4. She and I will IM every once in awhile, too.

My first contact with computer was when I was 12. I remembered the first experience was in school. When I was 13, we had our very first Personal Computer. It was something I always cherished. That time, I mainly use my PC for internet surfing. I will surf on my favorite topics ie. Backstreet boys, Manchester United FC and Japanese animes.

My first experience with a computer was not a very good one. I had no earthly idea what I was doing. I got lost immediately. I was in a composition class about 20 years ago and we had to get on a computer to type a paper. I turned the computer on, the instructor was telling us how to get to where we were supposed to do the typing, and I got very frustrated and just quit. I quit the class, too. Then about 8 years ago, I got a desktop computer for home, stumbled and fumbled around on it for awhile. Was frustrated for awhile then, too. It was really something when I was trying to learn to navigate the internet. I took an introductory class for computers and was able to get around the computer quite a bit better. I'm pretty comfortable with a computer now. I'll be taking some computer classes this next school year at the local junior college. I'm sure I'll be lost a few times then, too. At least I'll be in the class room with an instructor guiding me through it.

Hmmm. My first computer was a Tandy/Radio Shack computer. It had the large floppy discs for everything and was not very fast. I think it was Windows 3.0 or something like that. We used it mostly for typing stories and letters - which we sent by snail mail, since there was no internet. My son was probably about 6 when we got that first computer - and he's 24 now. The first time we got online was in 1999.

They didn't have computers when I was a child. The first time I was given a computer to use was at work in 1982 I believe. We didn't have windows back then and the system ran on DOS. I was the youngest in the office (around 22 I'd guess) so they thought I could pick it up quicker. They put the thing on my desk, handed me three huge binders said learn it, and once you do teach the others. LOL What fun that was! not.

When I was 3 or 4, my dad bought me I small computer that can talk and play with. Later on he bought more computers like SNES and Playstation, I was very addict to that. The first time that I saw a real personal computer when I was 9 at my friend's house, he was exploring and playing with Encarta and I'm a bit amaze by it though my friend didn't let me use it coz he is afraid that I might broke his computer. But the first time that I'd touch and operate a real personal computer was when I was 10 years old, we have a computer class at school and I'm a bit nervous about it coz I cannot understand that MSdos thing that time so I just copy what my seat is doing. Our teacher wants us to build a spaceship and a tree out of msdos but me and my friends were busy playing that RESCUE game on our computers. haha! When I was 13, I had my own computer and I tell you, I'd installed all of my favorite games until it ran out of space. haha! And now, a computer without an internet it is just so boring..

I was about 10-11 year old when my father sent me to computer lesson. At that time I did not have a single clue what the computer was all about. From what I can remember I was using a computer with green colored text...it's like DOS. Some 5 years later I was introduced to use Windows 3.1 if I am not mistaken. I was amazed at what a computer can do. From there I became interested in computers and I was addicted to it when I know what is called internet back then.

Apple Mac - My first Mac! Very old, but still one of the best computers I have ever worked on (It NEVER crashed)!
The first time I interacted with a computer was long ago. It was while I was in 6th grade and my Mom was my school teacher, she had four Macintosh computers setup and I loved to play on them all day. Then my best friend let me go with him to his Dad's work, who was a graphic designer, and I messed with all of his Macs too, it was a lot of fun and I've been using Macs ever since! Love them!

I was probably four or five, but maybe as old as eight. My grandpa had a computer and I would play Solitaire and use the paint program. It had Windows 3.1 on it. After that, it would be a few years before I was introduced to anything differently. In fifth grade we had one in our class which we used to play some pretty cool DOS games on. In eighth grade I took my first "computers" class which we used computers as old as we were (82's and 83's). We learned to type and to make moving pictures in DOS. If we got our work done we could help the teacher try to put parts together to make or fix computers and we got to play DOS games off of 5 1/2" floppies. Good times...but I must say that computers are a lot more useful these days!

I was 4 when I first used a PC to play Pacman and tinker with wordstar and Lotus 123. I remember how I would type my name and I was really enjoying it how those letters appear on screen. Well the screen was green and black back then just like the opening theme for the matrix movie. That's why I always thought that pacman was green and not yellow as we know he is.

hmm, i don't know at what age i've started to touch computer.. all i can remember is that there's no windows yet, wordstar 4 is the only program i know, and it's somewhat called 486 model..you know, ms-dos prompt with blinking cursor..and cls command, hehe, with other command that needs to add up alt button, like for superspcript of 2, that's alt+253, and you'll have you're instant superscript 2, that's applicable to any program, even at my autocadd..
