Spongebob is driving me nuts!

It seems like every time my kids turn on Nickelodeon I have to hear that silly yellow sponge. It drives me nuts. My husband says the show is good for teaching kids morals and values but I just don't see it. All I hear are high squeaky voices insulting each other. Is there something I'm missing here?

I think that the show is a great show for kids because it teaches kids a lot of good life lessons that they can not learn in other cartoons, since most of todays cartoons have bad language and violence, which at least the show SpongeBobSquarePants is a good wholesome family friendly show which has no violence,no profanity, and anything else that is improper and instead it is filled with a lot of laughs, and I think that is a good show for kids and adults to watch, but that is just my opinion.

i agree to hellcowboy because there is no bad language except for one epsisode saying how bad bad langauge is,and no violence unless it was to teach a lesson.

I am glad that you agree with me,and yeah the only episode that has anything about bad language is the one telling how bad,bad language is,and yeah the only violence is the violence that teaches a lesson, have a great day, good luck in your life, and Happy Posting.

No your not missing anything I feel the same way. My husband hates that show and thinks it doesnt contribute to any kind of morals or values. My daughter Erica used to watch it all the time but she has moved on to Hanna Montana and Zoey 101.

I wonder if we could ever overthrow the stupid yellow sponge?? My daughter likes Zoey 101 too. It was hard explaining about Jamie Lynn Spears playing a kid and having a baby. She saw the recent magazine cover.

I wish we could. I was fortunate enough that Erica hasnt asked me about Jamie Lynn Spears baby. She doesnt get caught up in all the drama which I amso thankful for.

no and actually if u look carefully spongebob,he is teaching and purposely show the bad things and make a person point out his mistake in a very funny way.that's what motive me to watch spongebob and mr crabs, spongebob's greedy boss.he loves money and never uses them wisely.and the grumy employee, squidwart.he plays the annoying clarinet and hates spongebob of his annoyance with spongebob's best friend, patrick.which is a patrick.

No I don't think you are missing anything. I dislike Sponge Bob. And I see no redeeming value in it for kids. My daughter doesn't get to watch it when she is home. Animal Planet works for us. You aren't alone.

We hardly ever watch Animal Planet- I've not really thought about it as an alternative to Nick. We do watch the Food Network alot. I think the kids are entertained by it.

Spongebob - Awe, isn't he happy.
I guess I'm the only one who likes it. I think Patrick and Plankton have the best lines. Squidward is funny too. I would rather listen to Spongebob than Ben 10 or that stupid Pokemon. I can't stand the fairly odd parents or the other shows that Nick has on. Every now and then a classic Tom and Jerry will come on and my kids roll on the floor.

Ah, yes Tom and Jerry. There's a classic!
