Telling a lie to avoid someone

My colleague is at her wits end when she kept on calling a client and each time she calls, the company says that he's in a meeting and couldn't entertain any calls. She would call him for about three times a day everyday just to talk to him. It has been almost a week and that guy is still in a meeting and for that she's thinking that that person is just making an excuse to avoid her. What do you think? Do you do a similar thing too if you are avoiding a person? How do you deal with people like that?

well surely the client is avoiding her..who knows? but i guess you have to give the benefit of the doubt first..maybe the client is really busy or maybe a plain alibi..why not pay a visit to confirm it? well if im in her shoes and its really that important then maybe i will visit my client to find out why he will not take my calls of course in a polite manner..sometime i do that if i think its not really an important call at all and im beating the deadline..

Well I think it's impossible to see her client personally because her client lives on another part of the globe. I'm sorry I forgot to mention that. Thanks for the response!
