My top bet for the upcoming year is the defending champs Boston. Why? basically they have kept all thier pieces. They are a good organization and have a desciplined coach in Rivers. Next is of course LA Lakers, with Bynum back next year I expect them to be even more deadlier. #3 is Cleveland, at 4 is New Orleans and at the 5 spot is Portland (with the entry of Oden, Bayless & Batum they look really interesting). My list 1. Boston Celtics 2. LA Lakers 3. Cleveland Cavs 4. NO Hornets 5. Portland Trailblazers Dropping out of the contender's list. 1. Phoenix Suns 2. Dallas Mavs 3. Detroit Pistons 4. Golden State Warriors 5. San Antonio Spurs What's your take?

My Top 5 for 2008-2009 Season: 1. Lakers 2. Cavaliers 3. Celtics 4. Spurs 5. Orlando I have a feeling that the Lakers will win the championship this year. They have Bynum back which allows Gasol to play his natural position at the 4. Although my favorite team (Warriors) are no where close to making the playoffs this season, I enjoyed them beat the Celitcs at home :D

My top 5 teams this season would be: 1. Los Angeles Lakers - with a healthy Bynum, a full season with gasol, Odom and of course MVP kobe bryant they are going to be the team to beat this season. 2. Boston Celtics - the big three is still a big three and they will again be very difficult to beat. 3. Houston Rockets - with the acquisition of ron artest the rockets now have their own version of big three with yao, t-mac and ron. I think that this will be the season that they will be able to past first round. 4. New Orleans Hornets - with CP3, peja, chandler, west and now they have a Posey a great defender with championship experience hornets I will not be surprised if they make it to the finals. 5. Detroit Pistons - the core is still intact and they have their experience and defense to battle other teams big three, big four or big five. they are still one of the team to beat this season.

Top Five: 1. Boston- Core group still intact. 2. Detroit- This past season was in top five already. This veteran team is built to stay in contention. 3. New Orleans- A second year Chris Paul and other rising stars on this team makes them very dangerous. 4. San Antonio- Duncan, Parker and Manu. The role players will step up in the postseason for another ring. 5. Philadelphia- With Brand and a couple of perimeter shooter, as well as Lou Williams and Andre resigned, may battle Detroit and Boston for East.

TOP 5 CONTENDERS 1. LA LAKERS- Bynum would be back, Kobe is good as ever. Pau Gasol would be there. 2. NEW ORLEANS- Chris Paul is a heck of a player, he would surely lead this team. 3. CLEVELAND CAVALIERS- Lebron James I think wants to win more than any other. However, he should get some support. 4. UTAH JAZZ- I also like this team. Lol. 5. BOSTON CELTICS- I'm predicting they'd do fair in trying to defend their title but the competition would be tougher this year. xD
