Have you ever spelled a word so wrong that when you right click it none of the words are the right word or spell check doesn't understand what you are trying to spell? Most likely you know how to spell the word you just kind of forget. I have done that before. Or how about when it is a very simple word like "how"? If your not around a computer or some type of spell check it's kind of embarrassing to ask someone how to spell words like that? Don't you think? My cousin asked me one time how to spell a word like that but I knew what had happened. Isn't it crazy that we do that?

I am an English teacher and that still happens to me. I get caught up trying to write notes down or something that I mispell easy words. I have had my students correct me more than once. They think it is funny, though, and it lets them know that everyone makes mistakes.

Yes I have done this before, I do it a lot actually. Whenever I do it I usually just have to look at the word again and I'll notice what I did wrong. Very rarely I'll have a huge brain fart where I forget to spell simple words like "of" and "the." This only lasts for about a couple seconds and everyone does it so I just usually get a good laugh out of it.

Hi o2bnocn, I always ask a friend or anyone near me when I am not sure about the spelling..I don't find it crazy at all since there are moment really that even if we know about it, we just want a confirmation due to memory lapses...LOL! So, I admit I have tried that many times and even here, when I am sometimes tired checking the dictionary, I will just guess and unfortunately, my guess is wrong..LOL! I will post a wrong spelling!

Not really, I'm a good speller. I sometimes go to use words that are not in commmon usage in English though so I get a line under them like they are misspelled but I know that they are not. Sometimes I mistype when I am writing on my lot and that looks like a spelling error. I usually spell most words right though.

Yes, that is true, sometimes you just go blank. Thinking to yourself, come on, I know how to spell that. I have done that with the spell check, poor spell check has no idea what you are trying to spell.

yeah, i experienced that also especially in microsoft word. i thought that they have the most advanced spelling suggestion online but i am wrong. right now i am using open office because it can suggest a word even you are just typing first two letters of the word that you are going to type in. is that really cool, right? if the suggestion is correct, i only have to press enter and that's it!

i do think it is a kind of forgetting of the knowledge. if it is too much serious.it is that we are strange to those words cause they seldom occur to us or we rarely make use of them. so let'us make the old things new again.

When I type so fast, it's easy to mispell words and that's normal. I'm not ashamed to ask someone if I wasn't sure of a word especially a technical term. The word has to be complicated before I ask someone. What is embarassing are those simple words or 4-letter words maybe.

Hehe it's true! I find that I type so much and very rarely write anything by hand and so when i try to write something with pen and paper i have to think really hard how to spell something!! Pretty bad really, but at least we now know we're not alone!! hehe :-)
