I never cried for somebody's wake EXCEPT LAST NIGHT...

I have attended so many wake already, usually of my friends', classmates', my friends' relatives and even of my own cousin's and uncle's... but never did I have even a single drop of tear that runs down on my cheek. JUST EXPERIENCE that last night to SOMEONE who happens to be my friend, my brother and a fellow Sunday School Teacher who passed away at a VERY YOUNG AGE of 24 (same age as mine) due to a STROKE which he suffered YESTERDAY MORNING almost the same time (5am) as I am typing this discussion. (what a coincidence?!) I did cry for two reasons: 1st, I and a lot of people around him especially his family will SURELY MISS a GOOD GUY, a GREAT FRIEND, a MODEL SON and a SUPPORTIVE BROTHER which he embodied all. His contagious smile and weird laugh (a really squeeky one from an ALMOST 6 foot GUY) that never fails to put a smile on our faces every time we see and hear it. SIGH.... His low but sincere voice that greets me and says my name everytime that we came across each other.(he never miss to greet someone even how busy he was) and He has JUST been ANYBODY'S GUY... easy to approach, always ready to listen, share his untiring wit and humor, and HIS UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. A BIG SIGH... 2nd, I am proud of His accomplishment! He never had a chance to finish a College degree due to the desire of helping his parents in supporting the education of his other 3 siblings. He has been a FATHER AND MOTHER FIGURE to them as well when both of their parents went abroad to work. He just HAD A GIRLFREIND few days before he passed away to be exact.. last July 14 when he was formally accepted to be A Girl's MAN! His LIFE that had an imprint on hearts and minds of those whom lives were TOUCHED by HIM. but to TOP all of this, was the DEDICATION HE HAVE SHOWN TO THE CALLING HE HAD... our locale minister told us "RALYN ALREADY FINISHED HIS RACE" and though he never had a chance to wake up in his deathbed in this life... for sure HE WILL ONCE AGAIN WAKE UP on the second advent of Christ! Indeed, RALYN...MISSION ACCOMPLISH BRO! I can't help myself but cry as I am summing up everything I have encoded here because I can still see his face, hear his voice and feel his presence THOUGH NOT PHYSICALLY but inside MY HEART! There he will live for as long as I live. HOPE TO SEE YOU BROTHER IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD...SOMEDAY... WE WILL MISS OUR GREAT BROTHER IN FAITH! And I THANK GOD MORE for He gave us RALYN and a chance to share his life! even how short he had lived... IT WAS INDEED A GREAT 24 YEARS well spent to us, HIS FRIENDS AND LOVEONES. One thing that I have formulated just today... It's not the LENGTH OF LIFE that matters most, IT IS THE PURPOSE HE HAS LIVED!

My heart goes out to you in your hour of grief to comfort you.Your friend must have been a wonderful person.I fully agree with you,Its not the length of life that matters most, it is the purpose he has lived. Some people just live for the sake of it while others do so much which so meaningful in that short span of their lives for which so many remember them that is really great."Cast thy burden upon the Lord and He shall sustain thee".To have lived with joy and sorrow,To have weathered the sun and rain,Is to know there's a better tomorrow, after the heartache and pain. With loving sympathy. My prayers for that kind soul to rest in peace.

Maybe my love for my friend made me write this testimony for my emotion was really running through the whole of me while I am making this sad discussion. HE DESERVES MORE THAN THIS! And only God can give what he deserves more! I will take your advice of finding the strenght in my attachment with his bereaved loveones and my other friends as well. THANK YOU SO MUCH from the bottom of my still sad heart

it's sad to hear that for such a young age, your friend already passed away, as you have enumerated, your friend lived a fruitful life. I'm really alarmed now a days that people live a shorter life, unlike before, our great grandparents almost reached a century, i guess because of our way of life, the food that we eat and the environment counts a lot. anyway, my condolences to you and to your friend's family.
