My Mom's friends' grandson died today. He was only 17 and died from an infection that got into his brain. He is still on life support because he was an organ donor. They said they will keep him on life support until Friday to give the doctors the chance to harvest all the organs they can. I think this is a very nobel thing the young man did..being an organ donor.

well.... i think it is great that he is a organ donor... i was planning to be one... but the thing is that i am afraid that the doctor will just let me die as the other person has a higher chance of having staying alive or because he is richer than me so that is something that holds me back... but i will still donate blood... obviously!!! but.... i think i will still be a organ donor...

I know things like that do happen but I don't believe it's very often. It is scary to think about though. Organ donation is a personal choice. Everyone knows how they feel about it and why.

yes I think it is a great thing to do, when we all know how so many people can be helped with one persons organs, it can make such a difference to the lives of other people...

Seems that I heard somewhere that 70 or more people can benefit from one person's organ donation. That's alot of people. Even if just one person's kept alive it's worth it.
