Would you bike or walk to work to offset rising gas prices?

I hear more and more on the news that people are considering this as an alternative means of transportation and I just wondered if anyone here would do such a thing. For me, I would depending on the distance. I have walked 8 miles home from work before so it isn't like I am a stranger to it. I have also biked to work 5-6 miles when my car was problematic. So would you?

Well! I do not work so I do not have to worry about tis. I walk to the pharmacy to get all my medicines and it is only one mile away, and the school is only one mile away but with Jenny being handicapped she has to be taken to school and picked up. The only things that are to far is a good grocery store. And I could not carry the groceries that far.

That is totally understandable. For those of us with transportation issues though, boy it sure is a pain. I don't go very far except to take Hannah to the doctors and go to stores too, but I still cringe every time I have to fill up. $43 the last time!

In the past, I have done quite a bit of walking. Unfortunately, that is not currently an option due to the area in which I live.

I am not sure about the area you live in, but I will take your word for it. I hate living in tough areas. Been there and done that.
