I don't take pictures very well. My husband thinks I'm beautiful and even he says I don't photograph well. I do have pictures up on my writing sites in my profile, just not here. I need to have a professional picture made that I can use. I just don't like having my picture taken.

I'm sure you will. I wish I had something like that going for me.
But you don't need a professional picture. just find a nice one.
Or get your husband to take one when your dressed for dinner.

Well walkthetalk, I think that certain people feel uncomfertable posting up a picture of themselves as the internet can be a dangerous place. I know what you mean about fact to words, lol. But I think people want to keep a certain type of distance for safety. I mean its enough for them to communicate with strangers alone.

I agree with keeping a distance. But it is strangers, nobody knows you. It is your Preference though.

My problem is that I can't decide on one to use. Even I get sick of seeing the blank avatar by my posts. LOL...some day I'll have it figured out. And if I don't, maybe I'll just throw something in there that I like. That could be just as difficult though!

Maybe you could let someone else pick your pic for you. That way it want be

Hello...like you, I have decided to post my own picture here. I guess some people choose not to for they are able to express themselves better when others don't know who they really are. Anyway, I can't really speak for others, but most people would love to keep such mystery I guess.

I never thought of that. A mystery. I think its a mystery seeing the face
and not really knowing whats going on in the mind. I think its ,I'm blank,
don't know, what without a pic. There's nothing to go on. so there is no
mystery.

I like putting faces to words too. It makes everyone seem real and not just words on the page. That is why I post my pictures, cant expect to see other's if you dont share your own. I really hate my picture being taken too, but every blue moon get on that is ok to share. I usually just post lots of pics of my daugther since she is the most beautiful person on the earth. Then again we are like open books life is to short to hide in fear.

I Agree with you also. If you fill open enough to post then do so. Life is short.
There are times when you can't let everyone see you, I have learned. But you are very right, life is short. It may not be hiding, it may be protecting.
