No Therapeutic Claims But Advertised as Good For Health

Almost all if not all advertisements of food or health supplements that supposedly provided one health benefit or another are accompanied by this statement " No thereapeutic claims" What does this exactly Mean? Several of these health aids claim to provide relief to certain ailments like liver problems,rheumatism,aching joints and so forth but if they say no therapeutic claims are they implying that the benefits they advertise may or may not be true?
