Florida wildlife officer saves bear from drowning.

Florida wildlife officer Adam Warwick dived into the sea to save a black bear from drowning. The 26 stone bear was roaming into a residential area looking for food and therefore shot with a tranquiliser. Startled the bear ran into the water. Adam realised the bear was heading for danger, stripped t his undies dived in and put his arm around the bears neck to keep its head above water. The fearsome but drowsy beast allowed itself to be rescued and pulled ashore. Adam who works for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission said: I was pretty surprised at how big he was. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. It was a spur of the minute decision. I was swimming toward the bear, trying to prevent him from swimming into deeper water. He was losing function in his arms and legs and was obviously in distress." Once ashore, the beast was loaded on to a truck by a JCB and taken and released in a forest near Lake City. The bear had been left unharmed by its near-death experience.
