one of canada's icons has been sold to a us company. Canada's oldest retail company, the Hudson's Bay Company has been sold to the owner of the upscale Lord and Taylors. It is another sad day as yet another canadian company goes south. http://ca.news.finance.yahoo.com/s/16072008/2/biz-finance-new-american-owners-plan-freshen-bay-zellers.html

Hi Doll Yes sad for you but I can not be too sad cause it's happy for us in USA. It will fit right along with the wonderful Lord and Taylors. I am so close to Canada I forget we are two countries most of the time. Many of my relatives are Canadians. xoxoxoxoxoxo

It is really sad when that happens. I get upset every time a Norwegian company with a long history gets sold. When for instance Freia was sold to a Sweedish company I got really sad. It has to do with traditions, culture, identity as well as workplaces and the power for us as a nation to the decide a companys future. When sold one never know when they will outsource production or shut down parts ot the company
