Suggestion for change in MyLot

Many times I have started a discussion or written a long response only to hit the Send button and have it not go through. Sometimes I lose Internet connections on my wireless laptop and don't realize it until it is too late. Then when I try to upload the page again, it will only go directly back to the empty response box. It is frustrating that you have worked so hard on your discussion or response only to have it wiped out because of the connections. I wish MyLot's software would make sure that the information would still be in the response box when you hit the back button after getting back online. This has happened to me so many times - even when I first finished this discussion and hit the Send. I was disconnected to the Internet and now I'm having to completely type my information over again. It would be nice to know that you didn't have to worry about losing all the information you typed and it would be right there waiting for you when you hit the back button on your browser. This has happened when I'm on other sites and what I had typed would still be there when I got back online and to their page.

I have tried to remember to COPY my comments to have them in case I do have to retype them. But I don't always remember to do that. It does anger me having typed a long response or discussion only to have it disappear in thin air!

Oh yes please!!. I don't care what else they do but if this is something they can tweak I so wish that they would. It's usually my best response (or at least the longest) for the day that I lose and then I have to try and remember what I wrote, the next time I dial up. Sometimes I might be going to bed and the chances of remembering are slim.

This would be one of the best things they could do! It would keep us from going insane or pulling out our hair! I did accidentally erase a long post I had almost finished last night. I went up to edit and hit undo and the entire thing came back. Sure made me happy! If it would do that when we hit submit, but it never makes it (page not found, or something like that), it would be great! MyLot could probably hear us all yelling YEAH!

This is an Excellent thought. Another one is earlier today myself, I was trying to respond to a discussion when my IE shut down on me, so I had to completely reload that, and have not found the discussion I was trying to respond to again yet. It would be nice if there was a way we could find that right away as well. But maybe these are changes for another time, myLot has never considered. If they are reading this, maybe they will take time to somehow incorporate it indeed.

I certainly understand that! I've had Firefox to hang up and had to shut down several times right when I was either writing to a discussion or just pulled up one I wanted to comment on. Then, going back like you, I could never find it again. If we have a search box that we could enter the name of the discussion in and pull it up, it would be so easy and nice. I have tried unsuccessfully to go through the same process in which I found the discussion the first time and it wasn't to be found. It certainly is frustrating, to say the least.

I had been have a lot of trouble staying logged until another member gave this piece of advice and since I have been doing it I don't have any more trouble. I don't know if it will help with your losing your connection though. When you log in Your member id and pass word come up and there is a box that says remember me. Check the box before you log in and then you remembered. this has helped me a lot.

I have never had to login since coming here. I have it fixed to remember me, and I just go find something to respond to when I get on or start a discussion. I think it's my internet connection with the router that is attached to the network for our wireless connection. But still, the information should be retained by Mylot. It sure would help lots. I am close to being able to copy and paste, so that will help. But I would rather have it where we could just hit back on the browser when it happened and the post would be right there waiting for you.

I learned to avoid that by first typing my message / response on word docs and save it occasionally. This helps me spell check and grammar check. Then I copy and paste it to the response box. Of course this feature only became available to me after I reached 500 post. So it was frustrating for me at first when I always had to retype my response due to some errors. Though I would like them to allow us to have an edit option, if after we submitted our response, we realize we missed something we can add to it. So sorry to hear that you have this problem so often, maybe you need to consider typing it on word first and saving it for sake of time saving. Good luck

I simply could not be bothered typing my response into word then copying it to the myLot site...things are already very slow for me. As for an edit button, we have the ability to check our response before we do a final submission. Can you imagine the abuse an edit button would create?

Now that I'm over 500 posts, I can type in Word and copy it into mylot. That is one good thing about getting to that amount of posts. As long as my internet service stays up, it doesn't bother me too much. This only started about a week ago. That's what had me bothered. Oh, it would be great to have an EDIT button after we publish in case we see something wrong.

That is a fantastic idea. I think soon we will have lots of improvements in my lot. I hope so! :)

I'm like a person commenting other day - we need some improvements addressed that would be beneficial to the mylotter before change in the appearance. But, now that we have the change, why not fix some of these things that others have been asking for?

I hear ya! Can't wait till I get pass the 500 mark for I can copy and paste. What I usually do is write out what I'm going to say in word processor then copy it to where ever I am that way if computer messes up; I still have it. I also can check for grammar. What you suggested would be nice also~
