If you like to use spoon or your hand?

Depending on what it is.... Ill use the appropriate thing. If its a finger food, I will usually use my hands to eat, because it is easiest and no dish washing after or less dish washing! I would rather use a spoon or fork to eat my food but it all depends. Im actually very germaphobic at times and I will mostly use forks or spoons.

I prefer to use a spoon.

I guess it depends what kind of food you are eating, some things you can use your hand.

If it is a food that is easily eaten with my hands like pizza I will use my hands. Otherwise I use a fork or a spoon to eat my food.

Hi my friend. I use cutlery and when I eat chinese food I use sticks. I know that in some cultures people use a bite of bread to eat with it. I will try it some day LOL. Cheers.

Hi Vimaal I often use my hand to eat and it is more convenient for me. But some times if I am in a formal party with people from other countries or in an official lunch I will not use my hands to eat. It may offend others. Hence I use fork and spoon in such situations.

Most of the time, I eat rice with the use of a spoon; at home or outside the house. During weekdays when I do have to go to the workplace, I eat rice and viand for breakfast using a spoon. I also bring along with me 'baon' consisting of rice and viand which I eat during lunch time in the company premises using a spoon. There are times when I do eat rice with my bare hands specially during certain occasions with the family and when the foods served are more easily eaten using the hands, like pizza, as you mentioned. For instance, if we have an occasion which we have to celebrate by the seaside, we would usually have fishes, shrimps, and crabs. Normally, these are 'hand-foods', if you know what I mean. Sometimes at home, my husband and I do eat with our hands because we feel that the food is tastier this way. Other locals also feel this way but I guess this is quite psychological. If I'm not mistaken, there was one instance where I ate with my hands in the office. It was a couple of years ago when we had our company's anniversary celebration and we had a 'boodle' fight. But it's very rare that we eat with fork and knife at the same time while eating.

Hi Vimaal, When the occasion needs to use cutlery, I use cutlery. And when the occasion allows to use my hands for eating, I eat using my hands. However, in most occasions that I eat, I prefer to use spoon, fork and knife. LoovesAmethyst

For me, depends on what I am eating, there are foods that was quite good and more easier to eat with hands than spoon or forks like fried stuffs as well as there are foods that was more convenient to eat with food utensils particularly when I'm eating in a formal places. So, it's depends on the food I am eating and to the place too.

Actually, like any good westerner I prefer knife and fork, lol. I don't like to get my hands dirty but do it sometimes with what we consider finger food. I use a spoon only for soup and maybe desert if it is ice-cream. Chop sticks for Chinese food... That's about it. It's interesting to see how different the eating habits are around the world;)

Anyway will do for me. At home, I use chopsticks. In restaurant, I use spoon & fork or with hand, depends on which type of restaurant I go.

i like to have my hand to have food. to me to have food by using spoon is waste. the actual reason why God gave 5 fingers in each hand is to crush the food well with 5 fingers and to have the food. if u crush the food by using ur fingers, some part of digestion is over, and when u take take that by mouth and chew it, some part of digestion is now over. when it goes to ur stomach, and food digestion will be easy. so that only our grand pa's and grand ma's will tell childrens to chew the food well and to have it.

In my place in which my Mother taught us is to used spoon everytime we have to eat especially when we are in the table but sometimes we cannot prohibited not to used a hand especially when the food is fish or some Barbecue food in any order like pizza also I always used my hand to eat in this kind of food but during especial occasion I always use a spoon and a fork.....for table mannerism.
