but nooooooo....the city had left a note by the mailboxes stating that starting at 8am this morning, there would be a crew out resurfacing the road that runs past the house where I am house sitting. It also stated that there were to be NO vehicles on the road from 8am today untl 8am tomorrow. So I nixed my plans of frolicking in the waves for the day. But you know what? I haven't seen any evidence of this resurfacing project except for one or two big trucks sitting at the end of the driveway of this house. It doesn't look like they did a single thing to the road! I'm so mad I could just kick them right now! I could have been all nice and cool...a little salty and sandy maybe...but it would have been better than just sitting around all day. Grrrrrrr! Sorry...I had to get that off my chest! Has anything like this prevented you from carrying out your plans for the day?

Oh I can relate in a few ways...no not so much as planning to go to the beach or anything, but will have plans for the day...The most constant one is if I'm expecting a delivery, so that means being stuck home all day, which I hate as I like to go out a bit everyday, and usually have some kind of errands to do. So I don't dare leave my place thinking the moment I step out, that is when the delivery will be...the worse then is when they don't show up that day at all...meaning nuts, now this means I have to stay home AGAIN the next day...grrrr.. Another winner? When you're expecting some kind of repair work and told to expect them (plumbers, plasterers...whatever) at certain time and day...and again..they don't show up--like doesn't MY time count?

I know what you mean about both of those. I really hated it when we had the satellite hooked up. They told me to expect the technician between 8am and 5pm. Like I want to wait all darned day for the guy? Fortunately he showed up around 9am, so I wasn't stuck home ALL day.

Well that really sucks that they did that! It's a shame you couldn't get out and enjoy the beach. Well, I hope they hustled out there and fixed it because it would really suck if they wasted another day of your time to fix the road!

They actually did waste another day, because they ran out of material yesterday and had to come out and finish the road this morning. Now I will be going to the beach with the insane weekend crowds. But no worries...I will elbow my way into a spot on the sand one way or another. LOL

I've got a doozy of a letter composed in my head. But I think if I were to send it in, it would cause my brother and his wife problems, since I don't live here....darn it! LOL

Oh that would have made me so angry, as it is usually when you can't do something that it is when you want to do it, like when you don't have a car on that one day you crave to go somewhere, yes I would be funing in your case.

It DOES seem like when we want to do something there is always something or someone preventing it from happening. Thanks for the response hon.

Katlady2 hi sorry your plans were all upset. a year ago here in our apartment complex they refinished the pavement in and in front of ourcomplex.when they did the part in front we were not to walkon it for 8 hours, and unfortuneatly I had to go' to work that day but could jnot walkout the front to get to the bus stop so had to call in and tell my boss that I was tarred in by the refinishing crew so got a day off without pay though.

It wasn't my work that needed to be completed hon. It was the work of the city workers that needed to get the road paved that goes past the house. I guess they were waiting until it warmed up outside to get the project started.
