Here in the US, we rate TV shows for things like violence in order to more easily monitor what our children watch. We try to minimize there exposure to violence. Yet in Saudi Arabia, the cartoon characters are sentence to lose their hands for something like stealing. Although, in this case, the bunny swears he will never do it again and it is possible for a compromise to be reached and cut off an ear instead!! http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,385502,00.html Now, if this is what the children are watching on TV is it no wonder that as adults they have so little value for human life. They also have cartoon characters who martyr themselves while fighting Israel, this one is obviously make so that little ones will want to be suicide bombers when they grow up. I expect that their will be cultural differences in the world, burping during dinner is good but showing the bottom of your feet is bad and these are acceptable differences. But cartoons aimed at children that teach violence. Please tell me what kind of religion this really is!! Any opinions on this? How can we change this culture? Will these people ever value human life?

I have grown daughters so I had not viewed cartoons for years. However when our grand-children were home, they wanted to watch cartoons and I was surprised to see the violence on them. They have really changed from 25 years ago. My daughter said that there are very few cartoons that the kids are allowed to view. She purchases videos so she can monator what they are exposed top

My son watched limited TV when he was small, from the time he was 3, he was involved in sports. From swimming to hockey, soccer, t-ball and golf. He was pretty much too tired but I did try and keep him away from network TV. I could not stand shows like power rangers. I did buy a lot of videos to watch though. At least then I could control what he watched.

and it seems that with this generation we may be dealing with the fringe, with cartoons like this, it will be the mainstream mentality. That is a scary thought.

Well I find that in general all cartoons are a bit violent. Even the most peaceful ones often deal with some sort of battle between good and evil. THIngs that used to make us laugh - like even bugs bunny or tom and jerry - do carry quite some violence in them. However those you mention seems to be more than just violence but a bit of indoctrination. True they deal with their own rules and traditions but it's pretty much like teaching kids trough play. Now, I don't usually generalize much, I am sure that most of the people you mention value human life and then there's the percentage of those who don't that make people believe that everyone is like that. How can we change this culture? I am not even sure we should. OFten it's the trying to change something that creates the problem, not the other way around. I am sure that in time, some of the harsh laws and situations will slowly change but in their own way, not ours. The Occident has a pretty violent and harsh past as well, things changed but history did not.
