I Live in the Chicken Shed but I'm Happy

As some of you will know it has been my great good fortune to be employed as a housemaid to one of our grander myLot members. She has taken me in when I was down on my luck and although she is a hard mistress, she is fair. She has housed me, clothed me and given me food. I have one day off a week, but as we live several miles from anywhere and I have no transport, I rarely go far. Some neighbours did invite me to a party the other night but my kind employer said that it would turn my head, and even though it was on my rest day I stayed home. My day is quite long. I rise at 6am and collect the eggs from her chickens (where I also sleep so it's a handy first job). Then I shower and dress and make my mistress her breakfast. Usually a boiled egg and toast soldiers. She doesn't like the egg too runny so if I'm to avoid extra toilet cleaning duties I make sure that it's just so. Then it's on with the duties of the day. Washing, ironing, sewing, cleaning, she has wooden floor throughout and I spend many hours on my hands and knees scrubbing. I make her some lunch, wash up, collect the post and then spend the afternoons pampering her. Massages and hair brushing are her favourites. Sometimes she makes me type her discussions for her on this computer. I am allowed 45 minutes a day on here during breaks. The it's off to make her evening meal (and mine) which I serve to her and any guests that she may have. Then, having drawn the curtains and got the fire going I get out into the chicken run, clean that out and prepare for the night. She allows me to wash in an old tin bath outside and I've found that by slanting an old piece of glass over it in the mornings the water is tolerably lukewarm by the time I get into it later. Then it's into my jammies, back into the house and turn down her bed. I make her cocoa she checks to make sure that I know what jobs I shall be doing tomorrow and we go our separate ways.I Her to the restful sleep she deserves and me to the little straw bed that she lets me have. I have a last scout around and then usually sit guard until midnight. She does beat me sometimes, but I think that's something that all we domestic servant myLotters have to put up with and only because I deserve it. I know that she cares really. Is your boss as kind and caring as mine?

I think mine is mean especially when I can't get away fast enough from the tailend of her 9 strip cattailed leather whip...If her oatmeal is not just the right temperature she pours it on the floor and makes me eat it off the floor with the dog. She only lets me bath when it is raining outside because she said I wasn't good enough to bath in a tub or pan..But sometimes I will sneak a wash, but if she finds out..there is he'll to pay.The only time I feel that she is nice to me is at dinner time when she will let me have her scraps as my dinner.God forbid if she finds a hair for then she shaves me bald..very cold in the wintertime when that happens. At night I have no bed but a place on the floor next ot the bed so she can waken me to fetch her water or what ever she may need at night..the only times I get a ragged blanket is in the winter months,even so it is usually to small to do much good.I would love tohave a little chicken place to callmy home after work so that I would be able to get away from her god awful snoring. Every morning I wake up to her yelling or a kick to my ribs telling me to stop laying around and get to work. I am not allowed to leave the property and have to stay out of sight when she throws her lavious parties I am usually locked in the sewing room left to mend clothing and socks. The only good comes out of the parties is that I can send the leftovers to my family hoping that will do them for a few days.. You have spinned quite a story from those fingertips P1ke. I am not employed now, but I have had a employer that was a donkey's behind.

Oh boy! Are you sure you don't just want me there to take over the cooking and cleaning??lol..alsoif I am to live in the house..does she snore and will I get a soft straw or feather bed? It does seem like it would be heaven not ot sleep on the cold hard wood floors. But I guess the work would go faster with for hands then two...see you soon.

Ah you would be a gracious master
. I feel that we would work great
together and both of us would get the work done that much faster and so he would get his nap times he needs. I surely wouldn't want to replace since he is such a nice person.

I can see now why you would rather go to Goodie and be beaten with a brush and shackled and that sounds like much for fun and a lot less tiring eh! What are you like? LOL.
If only your employer knew just how long you really spent on these chores and how much having a break on myLO!

My lips are sealed I wouldn't tell on him
..his employer might give him 30 lashes with a firm bristled brush.
.instead of a soft one. We wouldn't want p1ke to get to hurt..unless that kind of thing excites 
him then I guess we could tell away..lol

Some things are better left unsaid and my opinion of your employer and this post (use that term loosely) would definitely be one of them.

No. Even though I have it a little easier than you, my boos could care less about my welfare. That's the unfortunate part of working in industry. I'm pleased that you have been able to have something that supports you and gives you some comfort.

i really admire or i should say a little envy people who keep a contented heart and happy. yes, i admit i don't feel happy even though i have realized my original dreams. i can't help comparing with people around my ,yes, i do sometimes feel satisfied considering what i possess. it's always easier to say than to do.so living a chick shead happily really worth living in a mansion sadly.

She's the perfect boss for you. I'm glad she doesn't give you too much free time, the devil makes work for idle hands to do'. My boss has been trained to ignore me so all is well there.

I don't have a boss such as yours hun, I am that boss to my lil 6ft1 housemaid. He's not maybe as dedicated as you, he seems to watch a lot of football and news and documentaries and that stupid Discovery Channel and I have to smile at him sympathetically when he gets excited and tells me how his fave football teams are doing. For some reason he seems to have more days off a week than I do, but I make him work very hard on the days he does actually work. He is very cheap to run and funnily enough he also contributes equally to the household expenses which is always nice! I do give him an ear-bashing sometimes but he's very good and smiles at me and says nice things till I calm down! Funny housemaid, how patient he is! Very difficult to find good help these days...

Ahhh anonymili ... I have a housemaid just like yours too, I also have to smile sympathetically when anything happens (negative or positive) with his beloved football team. My housemaid has more days off than me too ... must be doing something wrong. I know, we are TOO kind and generous.
Time to get the shackles out of the cold store again, methinks.

Are you for real? I mean, come on...a "good" employer lets you sleep in her chickenhouse on a straw bed? She beats you and treats you like crap and you think that's a good life for you? I have no further comment on your post....makes no sense to me. I think you are full of it............

Apology very gladly accepted. I am afraid that I am completely barking, but then I am English. I come here to lighten up my life and have a number of friends, several of whom have kindly responded to this discussion, that come and aid and abet me in my eccentricity. This discussion is about my Australian friend Goodie who teases me mercilessly. I can do serious though. Just not very often. LOL.

Not quite. My bosses do the most stupid things. I've been in shipping for about 20 years and they cannot fool me. They have their heads in the sand and they are the poorest managers I ever had.
They also do their best to pay me the least they have to pay and spend the least amount of money they could on anything.
Down to the point of taking contributions in order to make up for a celebration or eat-in or anything like that.
I've never seen such a collection of crapheads before anywhere.

I can only advisy you to go to the ACAS website,and state your case,the working conditions are poor to say the least,and you dont seem to mention your recompense for all of this work.This job description reminds me of the documentary thats on the television at the moment,all about life in Private service...well im sure that the jobs in that programme will knock spots off of the position that you have accepted.Constant cleaning,work combined with regular beatings cannot be described as comfortable employment!...please consult you union rep at the first chance!

My boss is a slave driver and I hardly ever speak to him. He sends out emails from time to time, but unfortunately I dont think I have it made like you.

Well, I think if you do all of that and are willing to sleep in the chicken shed then I should have you come to my house to be my employee. I would love to get that kind of treatment. She is one lucky lady!

Oh you are indeed a lucky boy p1ke - I have heard of several mylot domestic servants who are attacked with loo brushes - your mistress doesn't sound as though she would do anything like this! You do sound like a good housemaid and if you weren't so happy with your current mistress I would have been tempted to try and get you to be my new housemaid instead - although there would be a lot more work involved here what with the children etc. I do hope I manage to find someone as happy as you! xxx

Oh mummymo I know that I am indeed a lucky boy. Although she does like my skirts to be rather shorter than I would like. She says that it helps her to aim! I'd come to you in a heartbeat. Maybe when I am fully trained I can do. If she lets me go of course. LOL. XX

My boss is more kind he has never laid a hand on me. He lets me stay at home to do my work. I write papers for him and do it from my home.
It sure seems like you are worked to the bone it is a wonder you put up with all of that. How do you keep the chicken poop out of your bedding?

My husband is even better than my boss. My husband lets me work for my boss and they do not gang up on me to much. My husband only beats me with a wet noodle when he gets mad at me. He lets me cook and clean for him, he even lets me clean his bathroom. I am so honored to be able to clean his bathroom.
Then there are the two cats that own me. They are so kind to me. They sleep on me at night to keep me warm if it was not for them I would not keep warm. They let me clean their cat box out. I do love aroma or cat box in the morning. When I was growing up my mom and dad use to let us have free time to go to school and I learned how people can be in the world. I do know I have such a charmed life here with my husband and all of his loving demands.

it sounds as if you have it good there p1ke.i think your wife should consider publishing her how to keep a good employee manuel.she would make a killing.i would think amongst our good mylotters here.i am looking for a good employee like you,but alas i have not got a chicken shed,i have a downstairs room with a loo,will that do.cheers sue

Atleast you know where you stand with you boss, hey p1ke. When its your next day off I'll sneak round and give you some egg sarnies!! I'll bring some food for the chickens so they dont try to eat yours. I'll bring a bottle round aswell if you want??
I didnt realise how busy your days were, I think you should be allowed abit more time on mylot as 45 minutes a day isnt alot!!! I thought my days were hectic!!!
