OK folks. Here's your chance to help an online business newbie. I've recently started a new business and am currently doing all I can to get traffic to my website. As all of us know, this is the true key to success. My goal for the next week or so is to arm myself with as much knowledge as I can on the best ways to get this traffic. So now it's up to you. What ways have you used in the past that have worked for you? What things have you used that were a total waste of time? Is "paid" advertising worth the expense? any suggestions that you have would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks in advance for all of your help!

A lot will depend on what type of business, whether it is something local or totally internet based, etc. Keyword optimization is extremely important. Is it something that people will stumble upon when doing a search for something? Why don't you put the link on your profile so we can take a look?

Thanks for your response. It's totally internet based and the link is already on my profile page. Please let me know what you think when you have a chance. Thanks again!

Well it's a business to me as I'm doing all I can to grow it. Yes the support and training has been great so far, I was just looking to maximize my time by getting as much feedback as possible from people who've been doing this for awhile. Thanks again for your help.

Congrats on starting your online business. I wish you great success. As for what you use to promote depends on what you are promoting. I use many different methods to promote my website, blog and programs. There are many ways to do all of this, but it would be better if I knew what you were promoting. I will give a list of the things I use off the top of my head: Traffic Exchanges (visit my profile for an offer I have with no strings attached to help you promote your program) Splash pages Forum posting Blogger sites link exchanges yahoo answers Craigslist backpage.com different online business groups Social networking and on and on and on. LOL Some of this I pay for and some I use for free. If you want a bit more direction about the actual sites I use, feel free to send me a message. I'll add you as a friend if we aren't already. Best of luck!

Of course you can pick my brain. It would be my pleasure. I don't see the point in allowing people to spin in circles when they start online. I'd rather help people along so they can get a true start. Send me whatever questions you may have. I may not have all the answers, but I am mentored by people that seem to do. LOL!

Thank you so much diva. That's a wealth of things to check out and I'll certainly do that. I also have looked at your blog and I'm quite impressed. If it's OK, I'd like to "pick your brain" a little more in the near future. I've sent a friend request and I hope you accept. Thanks again for your help!

A way that has worked for me, as one does not have to pay any money, is to use Traffic Exchanges. One inmediately notices the difference and your web site gets more visitors! After a while one learns which are the more "interesting" sites and it can be almost fun!
