my mother isn't my best friend. its not that i wouldn't like her to be though. she just doesn't seem interested. i keep trying to suggest "girls days" and stuff like that but she never seems interested. i think she still see's me as one of the kids, even though i am 27. I would like to be able to confide in her too, but i mostly just get critized by her.

I am a 51 year old woman that is still very close to my mom. I love and respect my mom very much and she has always been there for me. I have also always been there for her too. It is a two way street, we help each other. I also have two children. My son who is 33 years old is not quite as close to me as my daughter who is 25 years old. But her and I are always in communication and always there for each other and since we live together and work together that is a good thing, that we get along that well. My son and I talk on the phone but not as often as I would like. We live in seperate cities far from each other so we don't get to see each other often either.

No, I have not talked to my mom in over 4 months and don't wish to speak to her either.
