Hi fellow mylotters,
My mother has a Paypal account but is afraid of entering her bank account info to receive her money. I told her they have a check option but she keeps asking me lots of questions over and over again.
But now I have a question that I would like answered for her.
By the way my mum lives in the USA.
If you are from the USA and have requested a check from Paypal. How long did it take to arrive from the day you requested it?
If it gets lost or never arrives, do you ever get back the money you withdrew to the check?
That's basically it.
Thanks in Advance for any responses to this.

It takes about 1-2 weeks (closer to the 1) but they charge $1.50 to cut a check. If you do an electronic transfer to your checking account it takes 2-3 days and costs you nothing. Not that it'll make your mum feel more secure, I've had a paypal account since April 2000 with no problems.
Cheers,
Ed

Hey Ed,
Nice to see you around. How is everything?
Thanks for the informative answer. I think she would rather pay the $1.50 for the check. She has added her credit card to verify her account but she won't give her bank account info. and I can understand that to an extent, she isn't into these things so much.
Have a good day!

I used to get my money sent to my checking account but that was so long ago that I forgot how to even do that.. I haven't used eBay nor pay pal for about 15 months, so I am not sure what changes have come about since I did use it.. I started using the pay pal debit card and it is so much easier, but she will have to give some other information to them.. I do believe it is safe, they have tons of my information and I have never had trouble with it.. Good luck to her, hope she gets it worked out..

Hi Donna,
Thanks for your response. She is just very weary of giving out her info on the net.
I can understand her concerns but I keep telling her it's a trusted site.
Thanks alot!

I thought you HAD to have a bank account attached to Paypal. I actually got a debit card from paypal, so when I have money in my paypal account, I can use my debit card to use my paypal money.
