We have a boarding kennel, and we ask people to bring something that the animal likes maybe something with their scent on it, it will comfort them. and for the first couple hours the animal will seem lonely but after a while it plays or lays near the object that the owner has brought. it seems to work. so if you have something that is not really needed that has her scent on it, maybe let the dog have it and see how it goes. and of course give tons of attention so it doesn't have time to sit around and be depressed. hope this helps. try giving him steak. that's what someone did for a dog when the mistress was dying and the dog couldn't be around the mistress so the dog wouldn't eat. they didn't want the dog in bad health because the mistress kept asking how the dog was doing and they didn't want to add to her stress because she was dying. they gave the dog steak and the dog ate. maybe too could the daughter call and the dog could hear her voice on the phone?? just an idea. would you have a video of your daughter?
