What beaches have you been to and what ones are the best to go to? I love to go to beaches and collect sand from each one I visit. My hopes are to one day when I am old and gray show a bunch of bottles of sand from around the world to my grandchildren along with stories from each place.

I have only been to a couple beaches,I have been to Myrtle Beach,Virginia Beach, and Holden Beach, and I think the best beach to go to is Myrtle Beach because it is an awesome beach, with a lot to do,and I have a bottle of colorful sand that I got from Myrtle beach back in 93,because me and my parents used to go to Myrtle Beach every summer for our family vacation.

That is cool that you were at Myrtle Beach on spring break, and I am glad that you really liked it,and that is also cool that you have been to Virgina Beach, and I agree it would be fascinating to go to a beach not on the east coast, and if I ever get the chance me and my fiance will go to Gulf Beach, but it is hard to travel do how expensive everything is getting especially with gas prices so high, have a great day, good luck in your life, and Happy Posting my friend.

I agree totally with the travel expenses. We used to fly whenever we went anywhere. Now we are starting to drive. Much cheaper. You can still find good deals on hotels, etc.

I was in Myrtle beach on Spring Break my senior year of 1994. We liked it alot. Been to Virgina Beach sevearl times. However, you need to experience a beach not on the east coast. Go to a gulf beach because the water si warmer and much more clear.

I've been to a lot of beaches as I really love doing that during summer time but so far the best I think are those in the Boracay here in the Philippines. Boracay Island has received multiple awards for having the world’s best beaches. The best is the main beach the White Sand that stretches along 6kms of the 7km coastline. Very fine white sand gently slopes toward crystal blue water, which is often so calm looking like glass. It is a paradise for certified beach and sun-worshippers around the world. It is really enticing to beach loving tourists because of its sun bleached shores of powder-soft white sands that never get hot even in the afternoon sun. I have already explored by boat through the aid of boat tour, the more secluded beaches and coves there and oh they are also enchanting. Boracay Island is really a haven for all beach lovers.

I heard that in another post on here, maybe from you. I will definately have to look into that. What would an average vacation there cost in your opinion?

Well it depends on whether it is lean or peak season so I suggest you consult your nearest travel agent as they could give you better deals especially during the lean season. I don't know about the airfare rate of international visitors but as a local visitor, when I went there, the trip to Manila-boracay-manila would cost an airfare via asian spirit of php.3000/0W lean season. The average resort accommodations ac / php.3000. meals/br.php 100. /lunch 100. supper 150. It was really worth seeing though!

The sort of beaches that I love most of all have white sand, palm trees and a warm ocean. The best beaches in the world are in the Seychelles. I loved spending time on the beaches in Samoa and liked the traditional thatched beach accommodation there. I so enjoyed my time on the beaches of French Polynesia with a snorkeling trip to see small sharks and sting rays. The Cook Islands showed me some stunning beaches with tiny islands just off its coastline. I went to the Maldives and it has very expensive resort islands. Beaches that I haven't seen yet are the ones in the Philippines that I have heard look wonderful and the ones in Thailand that I have been told are gorgeous. The Caribbean islands all seem to offer superb beaches. I hope to go to all these places during my lifetime. Happy traveling and discovering great beaches.

Yes, travel is my top hobby. Even when I am not traveling I dream about future trips and remember past trips with fondness. Yes, I should be a travel consultant arranging around the world trips and other exciting adventures. One school assembly I did with the children in my class was them holding up a flag that they had made. Then they acted out an Aboriginal story and each told a few sentences about different countries.

Thanks again for such incredible advice. YOu have such a wealth of travel knowledge that you should be travel agent instead of a teacher:)

I lived on the coast of Texas for over 20 years, and I love the fact that you can drive on the beach in Texas. I have also been to beaches in Florida, both sides of the state, and they have very pretty sand there, so white. The beaches in Matzalan, Mexico, they were nice but with all the hotels sitting right on the beach, there wasn't much beach left there. And I have been to Virginia Beach, which I love that place, I love the boardwalk, and the fact that there is part of the beach where you can go and take your dog, and it's not as crowded as in the tourist part of the city.

Been to beaches in Texas and Florida, as well. The gulf side beaches in FLorida are much better. Never been to Matzalan but have been to Cancun and Cozumel. Both pretty nice. I have been to Virgina Beach, too. My brother-in-law was stationed in Norfolk. The boardwalk is a very nice feature. My favorite beach would have to be Montego Bay, Jamacia. It was awesome white sand and the water was clear and as still as glass. When we went snorkeling you could see forever.

I love the beaches in Michigan - From the Arch on Mackinaw Islands, to the Sand Dunes Of Lake Michigan, they are more diverse than most. I also love the beaches in Oregon, Pacific Coast. Very uninhabited, undeveloped and serene.

Rocks...that is a cool idea, too. How can you not be a beach lover?
