I nail bite before. That was long time ago. I stop it because it's not good to look at. My nails are broken and ugly. If i am anxious and agitated i do nail bite. I also do that when i am nervous. Thanks God i was able to stop this habit.

I used to bite my nails somethin fierce as a teenager. I stopped doing it though. I used to bite them really bad and down the quick. Thankfully my nails grow very fast. I guess I stopped biting them when I started smoking not that that was any better. I find putting nail polish on and chewing gum helped.

Thanks.. Chewing gum helps me with a lot of things. I guess I need to keep my mouth busy lol My favorite is that new dentyne mint chocolate... its like a treat! Stops me from eating sweets. It was really helpful in getting me to quit smoking... Unfortunately it didn't stick. Good luck

I used to bite my nails right down to the quick, where they would bleed. And I did it all the time. I ended up putting band aids on my fingers. They really have a nasty taste to them, and they did the trick for me. Just don't use the stretchy cloth ones...they don't have that same "flavor".

I never tried this. To me it is a bad kind of act and it is an unhealthy practice. It can cause serious problem to our health.

Hello hopejordan, No, I don't. One of my elder sisters like to bite her nails. I don't know why but she said it is just a habit. She will do it whenever she is alone or whenever she has nothing to do with her hands *smiles* like while watching TV, or talking to others. It is not a good habit but she just can't stop it.

I did nail biting but not that often. And that was during my early years.I guess it's just that my nails are easily chipped and a bit thin.Quite lazy to look for nail cutter,i would bite it to trim. But i've grown out of it. I have cousin who thumb suck until she got married. What she used to do so as to avoid embarrassment is hid under the pillow while thumb sucking.Haven't seen her since, hope she got away from it also.

Putting something on the fingers to make someone stop nail biting is for small kids only. For adults, will power is the only thing you need to remove that habit. It does not only lead you to dental problems but it also does not look good.
