i was hearing so many good things about these rice cookers, so i went out and brought myself one i usd it a few times but i did not like how the rice was coming out, all gluggy and yuk when i can make perfect rice normally .. i just had to see what all the fuss was about and truthfully the thing is back in its box up in the wardrobe..i prefer my way the rice comes out perfect every time..

Sounds like you're mixing in too much water or you've got a bad rice cooker. Mine is a great little machine! Perfect rice every time and none of the work. I have, accidently, mixed in the amount of water that I usually use when I'm cooking it in a pot, and it came out really sludgy and gross.

hi, I don't know what's happening at your rice cooker, but it must produce nice rice every time. Maybe it's something wrong in the amount of water that you place in with the rice? When I was using our rice cooker I had a certain mixture of the water and the rice and it comes out nice, the perfect kind of rice that I want. Hope that your rice would be good! Yum!

My youngest brother suggested one of these for me b/c I'm terrible at making rice or pasta for that matter. Instead I bought a timer and now it doesn't dry out and burn, it isn't gluey and yucky...it turns out just right every time.

I have a rice cooker and I love mine, but if you enjoy cooking your rice on the top stove more power to you
I love my slow cooker as well.
I am thinking that amount of water and also type of rice (I use long grain rice for my rice cooker)
I hope that helps a little.

We all have our different and unique type of tricks for cooking rice but I do prefer the ones I cooked in the rice cooker because there is not that much effort put in to it to be perfectly cooked,In my opinion maybe you just put a little bit more water in the rice cooker than you should, thats why it was all sloppy,But anyway its just my opinion.Hope you liked my response and have a nice day.

may be u are pouring more water or may be u are putting more or less time.
generally i will add 2 cups water for one cup rice.it will come out good for me.
for plain rice ,only 2 cups water is enough for normal white rice. if u add any vegetebles or any flavours in rice,u should add more water, depending on the vegetables or spices u add.
