People really can ruin everything!

I was talking to someone regarding the new Batman movie "The Dark Knight". They liked it but did say it wasnt the greatest for kids. What happened? Why is it that a comic book hero, who makes most of its money from toys, costumes and games for children, has a movie that realistically kids should NOT see until they're a little bit older? How fair is that? As a parent we are put in a terrible position. Do we take them to see it and risk nightmares, judgemental stares from others, or be the bad guy an say no and put the children in a quandry of not understanding why thy cant see their favorite hero. It started it years ago with Adam West as Batman. Adults today are still watching it when available. The other movies were okay. It just seems that Adults forgot about the purpose of Batman and what it means to children or yesterday and today. Its all about money. How sad is that? Parents pay tons of money for their children to be a play with batman toys and enjoy the memorys it creates. Now a days it may be a great adult action movie. What about the little people? Adults really can ruin everything!
