The NASA has confirmes that German astronomers have discovered a star and 3.2 million times more shining sun. The infrared telescope 'Spitzel' has seen in our galaxy, the second celestial body most shining ever observed. But it is invisible to the naked eye: the bright star, named by astronomers 'Peony Nebula star' is hidden by a barrier of interstellar dust prevents the light to come up the earth. Yo can read more about this star on the site of NASA http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/spitzer/multimedia/20080715.html It will be good news?

Eta Carinae - Eta Carinae star
That is a really bright star but is not even close to Eta Carinae (the brighest star in all the skies. Interestingly a blue star (hey I just got one of those myself!). Thanks for the article Zelo

They say that the data in their possesion are not complete due to a blackout of this star by the dust. They even Peony could be more luminous that Eta Carine. We look forward....

They're just excited that their new toy works and that they can measure things that far away. They like being able to pierce the veil of the solar system and have a peek at what is out there. They may just discover one day a tiny blue gas ball out by that vwersion of the sun looking back at them through their telescopes.

Yes, certainly are pleased that their toy works weel. But what I wonder is whether the work of their toys a day will bring benefits to us ordinary mortals.
