the Tree

We have a big oak tree in the backyard. We have extra cement blocks so about 4 feet out from the tree I started building a wall. Just so the kids can play around, have somewhat of a fort or play with their tractors back there in the dirt. We somehow they never play there. I can't believe they don't, I guess I'm going to have to take some toys out there and show them what to do. I also, on another side of that tree, want to put a tree house about 4 or 5 feet off the ground. I don't want to put it in the tree because it would have to be about 8 or 10 feet off the ground and I'm not ready for that at their ages of 6 and 3. But I have high expectations of that too. That they will be out there building it (after we do the foundation part of it). What are your experiences, do your kids invent things on their own a lot? I know mine watch too much tv, and I need to have other things for them to do. I'm working on it.
