I am in the nursing profession. I am an LPN in Long Term Care with geriatric patients, basically a nursing home. I love my job! I work what is called the week end option. I work just saturday and sunday 16 hour shifts and get paid for 40 hours, it is nice to get your work week done in just 2 days. That leaves the whole week open so I can fill in at the doctors office for some extra money. Nursing is a very rewarding job.

Hello Mahesh2008 I respect NURSING PROFESSION as it is a noble profession. I thing in the whole world this is only profession which directly serve to the mankinds. Though I am not involved in nursing profession. My few distant relatives are actively involved in this profession . In once sense serving to mankind serving to god. If you want to the blessings of gods then you will have to serve to the mankinds. Each and every religion believes this theory. In my eyes nursing is a noble profession . Nurse serve the patients round the clock and by virtue of their noble service patients are recovering from their illness. I admire this profession. pkc3000

Hi mahesh! I'm an LPN (licensed practical nurse) and I have been in this profession since 1972. I used to be very committed with it, up until my own illness which forced me to retire early. Mostly I did home hospice with a visiting nurse association, and did a lot of private duty on my own. Prior to that I was a charge nurse at a nursing home for many years. If you are thinking of becoming a nurse, I can tell you honestly that there will always be a job for you. There has almost always been a nursing shortage, especially now that our population is getting older. Nursing is one of the few places where you can make a big difference and help people. It's a very respectable job to have, and it makes for a wonderful career in which you can advance as your heart desires. It's hard work sometimes, but it's worth it!
