hi..long time back I watched this tv show called "Ugly Betty".The girl with no good look trying hard to cope up with this selfish world of glamour and beauty. So my point is does looks matters a lot to get into careers like fashion and glamour?

The saying, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" is very true. How we perceive beauty actually depends on how we see it and of course,on our set standards. Some maybe attractive to others but not on the others. But of course, great looks is a plus factor in getting first impression coz you can't tell the totality of the personality of a person unless you spend some time to get to know him/her better.

frankly, it does and that is a sad truth...though we will hear guys tellign us that they want smart women, independent etc..but nobody will say i want ugly duckling princess to tag along in the street...
this is just a reality check i dont expect everyone to agree with me though..thnks happy posting

Thank you for your response. How important is beauty really?Lot of us lay so much emphasis on outer beauty, on the colour of skin, the hair, features etc while we forgot to appreciate the beauty within that person. It is great to look good and be admired. It raises your confidence level and makes you feel better about yourself but how do you really need to look for this?I know models who are incredibly insecure about their looks, though they have beauty.

you are right on that but like i have told you and also you have stated, outer beauty cant be noticed that soon...but i hope all men have the ability to look deeper, more than the eyes can see ayt?
