i heard on the news that eating peanut butter is not good for women who are pregnant. i had been eating it off and on. i was told that it has the nutrients it needed to nourish unborn children. i wish that i had known about it sooner. they say it causes the unborn to have asthma in the long run. that is something i dont want to happen to my unborn child. i stopped eating it.

when i was pregnant i was told not to eat peanuts because i have a family history of asthma and that allergen might trigger some reation from the baby and because of "nut allergy" that the baby might get when he's old enough to eat it himself... now i highly doubt that, i only heard of nut allergies when i got here in the UK, that was not known in the Philippines because we all just love eating peanuts and peanut butter as kids... i thought the more that you are not exposed to it in early age would or might be the culprit of this nut allergy that they are talking about... i found it absurd and it didn't stop me from eating peanuts and i had a happy healthy baby...so dont feel too guilty about it... just do what your mother and her mother before her thought you... human body has not changed in the last 100 yrs so whats applicable to them then would still be the applicable to you now... enjoy your pregnancy and stay happy.

I had never heard that before. I craved peanut butter marshmallow sandwhiches when I was pregnant with both of my kids I ate them all the time and neither one of my kids have asthma. They are always claiming something aren't they?
