the devil looking out of my neighbor's window. Yes, I am melting, just walking around the house picking things up is resulting in a sweaty me. My poor dogs appear to be melting into the floor. I have some fans going and am drinking cold beverages to try and keep cool. So tell me how hot is it where you are? And what are you doing to keep cool?

Right now it is 93 and feels like 95 outside and have a slight breeze. It is ok outside if you are in the shade and not really doing much. I am staying in the house with the air conditioner on. I am also drinking ice water.

We are at 92 right now, with a real feel of 91 according to accu-weather. but the weather channel says the heat index is 93. Either way it is too hot. I am hoping for the severe thunderstorms they are talking about to cool things down.

OK right now, at this very minute in time which is 11.00pm at night it is 54 degrees. It has been about that all day, it has been cold. It has also rained on and off all day and the sky has been black. I am despairing of seeing anyone melting or ever having a fan on again to keep cool because our weather sucks and has sucked for the last two summers!

Oh, what I could give for 54 degrees, I will take the rain and dark skies. I just keep telling my self 6 weeks until September. By then you know you can survive to some heat relief.

Oh I don't envy you my friend, I can't stand the heat! At times like these don't you wish you were living in a nice cold country! Iceland sounds good, want some company? It hasn't been too bad here in the UK, we suffer with the humidity and don't have the luxury of dry heat. I am very sensitive to the heat and feel it! I am a cold blooded person, hence the wolf lol. I do have a desk fan which is bliss! We don't get much of a summer here, even in July, sometimes we can get four seasons in one month! I hope it gets cooler for you. Maybe they should invent a fridge that you could sleep in! I find it worst at nights trying to sleep!

Yes, sleeping at night is the worse when it is hot. Tonight it is going down to 70, which is not really to bad. I can handle that. I was in the UK in Winchester one time just before Christmas, I was surprised how mild the weather was. I too do not like the heat. Even as kid I hated it.

It was pretty warm here today, okay, hot. lol I kept the dog cool by taking her out and letting her play in the water hose, about 4 times today. I thought it was such a nice day, I decided to sit out and get some sun.........okay, bout an hour later I was in the cool shower. For the most part, I like to stay upstairs where the ac's are and scrapbook. And to think I'm actually admitting it was hot up here! lol I'm from Texas!.....I think I'm wimping out! lol I lived where it was 110 plus the heat index, so mostly felt like 118 in the summer. It gets to around 92 here and I'm melting lol

I think I just figured out your name - Pennsylvania longhorn? My dogs do not like the water, I would love to hit them with the hose and one has such a heavy coat that when we take him to the dog wash using the vacuum and the big dog dryer -- he is still damp 3 or 4 hours later. Wow - a heat index of 118. I don't think my oven gets that hot.

Yep Tami is a whimp, can't even say what the temperature is today just that it was hot. hahahahaha What do you call hot now after leaving good ole Texas? I can remember when you and I would get together and let the "kids" play in their pool and then we would get the hose after them and now you are having to get the hose out after the dog. Sure do miss those days.

Why would anyone want to live there. In the winter, I can put on another layer to keep warm! Here, after removing a few layers, they arrest you. I will take the NY winter.

Gah! We have yet to have any hot weather here in Ireland..We've had a few Warm ones around the 80's F but no real warm spell that hung around..I got home from work in the Pouring rain here Friday night to find a Girl I'd previously worked with popping up on MSN Messenger-She and Her SO are in the Caribbean, and She had a Bikini shot of Herself on the Beach on St. Maarten up as her Avatar Pic looking very happy! The best I could manage here was biking to work on the warm dry days! I'd like a Few days in the Sunshine..

I'm melting here too today Debs...I actually went out today to...had to ..to get some groceries...I don't drive or have a car so I walked to the supermarket....I felt I was walking through the Mojave Desert...it was 96 degrees with a heat index that made it feel over a hundred. I had to stop every few minutes to drink water from the bottle I take with me, and nuts...that water was ice cold when I left and warm by the time I got to the store. The one good thing was that the store was nice and cool, I didn't want to leave. My two furbabies are melting into the floor too.

Oh Pye, I hope it was not too far for you. I have to push my guys out the door, they hate this weather. One of my dogs is the thinker, he knows the shop has a cement floor, he will open that door and hide in there when it gets too hot. The other one just wants to be by Mom. Thankfully in the summer they sleep on the floor by instead of the bed. What did we do before water bottles became so popular.

It is really hot here where I am at. We are in our room and we have this air conditioner thing which is helping somewhat. But when we go out to the kitchen or bathroom the heat is so unbearable. They said that it will continue tomorrow and that it may rain for the next three days.

I know, you have that little bit of AC to make it more tolerable and then you step out and it is like jumping into an oven. It is awful. If it rains, I hope it cools down, real hot and rainy is just awful.

My husband has one of those fans that are like a jet engine, we have to have to volume on the TV all the way up and the dogs have to be careful or they get blown across the room ...it does not help

I know what you're going through! It hit 99 degrees here today! And that's not the heat index, either! (Northern Virginia here.) Fans in every room is a must! We have central air conditioning, but we don't want our electric bill going through the roof, so we use fans in every room. I also close all of the blinds and curtains on windows that face the sun. I drink a small glass of ice water every couple of hours. Sometimes, I throw in an iced tea. I only eat cold foods on days like this... salads, fruit, cold meats, etc. I take a nice, long soak in a tub with tempid water and with cucumber melon soap and/or bubbles. Afterwards, I powder myself down with corn starch. It really helps! If it's really hot and I have to be outside for any length of time (watering my plants outside every day is a must in this weather) I wet my hair with cool water before going out. It helps to keep me cool. Oh, and I put ice cubes in my dogs/cats water bowls. They love the cold drink, too!

Oh, I forgot to mention... from what I've seen, at least from the Mid-Atlantic region of the U.S., the hottest week of the year is always the third week in July. With very few exceptions, it has always been this way, at least as far back as I started watching the weather. My son flipped out today because I told him about that little weather fact about a month ago and, sure enough, it's the hottest week it's been here all year. It should cool down some next week.

You are the bright spot of my day for that bit of trivia. Friday night, Mom who is in Buffalo, NY could not believe that they were warmer then my son who lived in Georgia. In her head, South always warmer then north and I can not convince her otherwise. Cucumber-melon soap - is that bath and body works?

You can find that practically anywhere. I get mine at WalMart! It works just as good as the really expensive stuff. Dove has their own... I think it's cucumber/melon. I have always used Dove soap, so that's what I buy.

I am not sure how hot it is right now but the humidity is very high. I am sitting with a wet rag with ice in it and putting it on my forehead and neck once in a while. I will jump in and take a cold shower before bed. I dont have any air conditioning and its a killer.

Don't I know it, I have been taking a shower about 1:30 and then going to bed around 2. Hoping that I fall asleep before I heat up again. The son wakes me up by about 7. I live in a brown house and as soon as the sun rises, it targets my house with the heat.

That is about 93 to 97 or 98 degrees Fahrenheit. We have been getting the 93 to 94 but nothing above that yet. One summer we hit 106 (41C), my son was small and played hockey that summer. It was to hot for them to keep the ice.

It's hot here too in my country. If you go outside the house. You will be assaulted with the hot rays of the scorching sun. Global warming surely is a serios matter to be taken in to consideration. It will be hard if someday we can no longer venture outside our very own backyard.

The temp is 94 here right now but with the humidity it feels like its 194 degrees out. My kids arent wanting to go and play outside anymore and I dont blame them one bit. We have air condition vents in the floor and I find them sitting on top of them just to keep cool! They had been playing outside in the pool and with water toys but its so danged hot the water just evaporates right off you!!!! This heat is getting ridiculous!
